Flower Patch Pop-Up Box Card

Flower Patch Pop-Up Box Card

This is another pop-up box card I created, but was inspired by one that Amanda Bates made, so wanted to make one of my own with the current flowers sets and the butterfly punches.  Her measurements were different than mine and I wanted to create one that would fit into an A2 envelope that we sell.  Here are the instructions for making my card.

Stamp Sets:  Flower Patch, Petite Petals, Petite Pairs
Cardstock:  Pool Party, Garden Green, Blackberry Bliss, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Soft Subtles DSP Stacks
Ink:  Basic Black or Memento Black
Other:  Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, 1¼” Scallop Circle Punch, 1” Circle Punch, Flower Flair Framelits Die, Rhinestones and Pearls Basic Jewels, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Sticky Strips, Glue Dots, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, Fringe Scissors, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Bitty Butterfly Punch

1.      Pool Party cardstock is the cut at 8 ½” x 5 ½” and scored landscape on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool at 2”, 4”, 6”, 8” which leaves ½” on one side.  This makes the perfect size to fit inside an A2 envelope to mail.
2.    Turn the cardstock to portrait on the Simply Scoring Tool and score at 2½”.  You can leave the slat next to the ½” mark not scored so that it will stand up for the back of your pop-up box card.
3.    Use the Bone Folder to crease all scored lines.
4.    Trim off part of the ½” narrow section at the middle 2½” scored line. Use Paper Snips to cut up to the scored lines.
5.    Insert each 2” inch slat into the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create scalloped edge on all four sides.
6.    Use adhesive on the ½” slat that is left and attach to the other side to form your box card.
7.    Cut the Pool Party DSP at
8.    Cut out two small tabs of Garden Green cardstock to go inside the box card.  They are cut at 3 ½” x 1” and scored at 5/8” on each end.  Fold and crease scored ends to make a “Z” inside the box card for the front and back.
9.    Now you are ready to decorate with stamps, DSP and punches as you wish. The butterflies are attached with  a small piece of a window sheet and glue dots.

Sea Street Waterfall

It's been a long time since I've made a waterfall card.  They were popular several years back and I was so impressed with Julie Davidson's card sample that I want to make one too.  Now, I'm eager to make even more.  Here are the instructions for my card.

Stamp Sets:  Sea Street, Something to Say, Wetlands

Cardstock:  Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White

DSP:  Maritime

Ink:  Real Red, Night of Navy

Other: ¼” Cotton Real Red Ribbon, Sticky Strip, Angled Tag Topper Punch, Snail Adhesive, Bone Folder

Technique:  Waterfall

1.     The card base is 4¼” x 5½” Real Red cardstock and does not open.

2.    The second layer is 4” x 5¼” Night of Navy and attached with Snail Adhesive.

3.    The third layer is DSP Maritime and it is cut at 3¾” x 5” and attached with Snail Adhesive.

4.    The pull tab is Night of Navy cut at 1¾” x 8½” and scored at 1¾”, 2¾” and 3¾”.  Fold and crease with Bone Folder.  Insert long end of pull tab into the Angled Tag Topper Punch between notches and punch.  Insert Real Red Cotton Ribbon into the hole to pull.

5.    The Whisper White pieces are 1¾” x 2” and stamped with images from Sea Street in Real Red ink and then verses from Something to Say with Night of Navy ink.

6.    They are mounted on 2” x 2¼” Real Red cardstock with Snail Adhesive.

7.    The stabilizer piece is Real Red cardstock cut at 1” x 4¼”

8.    Use Sticky Strip on left side of each flip piece and attach to the pull tab at each scored mark centering each piece.

9.    Put Sticky Strip on the back on the back of Night of Navy pull tab and attach the stabilizer piece.  Put two pieces of Sticky Strip on each end of the stabilizer and attach to the front of your card so that when you pull the ribbon you have a “waterfall” technique.

Bloom with Hope

I love sunflowers, don't you?  The Bloom with Hope hostess set has a beautiful sunflower stamp, so I made another gift card holder for a birthday card using Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11" for the base of my card. Then I scored one end at 1 3/4" on the Simply Scored. I used Sticky Strip on each side to form a pocket.  I used the Envelope Punch Board on the other end and made notches at 1" on each side to create tabs to be inserted into the pocket.  Then I stamped sunflowers on Whisper White cardstock with black ink and colored them in with Daffodil Delight and Chocolate Chip markers.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" in black ink next to my sunflowers, and layered it onto Basic Black cardstock at the top with Snail Adhesive.  .I stamped two more sunflowers on  Whisper White cardstock with black ink and colored them in with the markers and then cut those two out with the Paper Snips. I put Dimensionals on the back and attached one over my stamped sunflowers   I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border on Basic Black cardstock and attached to the bottom with Snail Adhesive. I attached the other cut out sunflower over the ribbon border.

For the inside, I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock at 3 1/4" x 6 3/4" and scored at 1/2" and  5" using the Simply Scored.  Create a pocket by using Sticky Strip on each end.  Put Sticky Strip on the small edge and remove the strip.  Put pocket inside other pocket and close by putting the notched tabs inside the pocket.  The sticky strip will adhere to the card so that when you open it up, the gift card will pull out.
