Gingerbread Girl - Double Fun Fold

This is fun card to make using the Gingerbread Bundle, but instead of a Gingerbread Boy, it's a Gingerbread Girl using the eyelashes for the eyes and the rosy checks.  She has bow for her hair and a scarf.  I was inspired by a card from Angela McKay.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Gingerbread Man (Girl)

Cardstock:  Real Red, Pecan Pie, Basic White, Garden Green, 6” x 6” Christmas Tags & More Mix and Match Specialty Paper

Ink:  Garden Green, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Versa Mark, White Embossing Powder

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, Embossing Buddy, Gingerbread Man Dies, Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Heal Tool, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots, and Red and White Adhesive Backed Peppermints

1.     The base of the card is Real Red cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” and set aside.

2.    The gatefold of the card is Real Red cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 2” and 3-3/4” on each end.  Fold in and burnish with a Bone Folder and then it in and then out.

3.    The inside Basic White cardstock is cut at 4-1/4” x 3-1/4”.  Ink up the sentiment “Sugar & Spice and everything nice” in Garden Green ink.

4.    Cut the green plaid Specialty Paper at 7/8” x 4” two times and adhere at each end of the 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” Real Red base card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

5.    Cut Real Red cardstock at 1-3/4” x 4” two times for the front of the gatefold card and insert into the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Adhere to the front panels with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

6.    Cut the red and green plaid at 1-1/2” x 4” two time for the inside panels and adhere.

7.    Use the Embossing Buddy on the Pecan Pie cardstock and ink up the Gingerbread stamp with Versamark ink.  Adhere the White Embossing Powder and shake off the excess.  Use the Heat Tool to emboss the powder until it is shiny.  Die cut with the Gingerbread Man Dies.  You need to use the Paper Snips to round off her one arm.

8.    Use the face stamp with the eyelashes for the girl in Early Espresso ink and use the Petal Pink ink for her cheeks.

9.    Die cut a bow and a scarf with Garden Green cardstock.  Adhere with Glue Dots.

10.  Adhere three Red and White Adhesive Backed Peppermints for her buttons.

11.   Die cut the candy cane twice, once with Real Red cardstock and one with Basic White cardstock.  Glue together to make one candy cane and adhere to her hand with Glue Dots.

12.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of her head to adhere to the top of the front flap.

Gathering Moments - Column Card

This is a column card that my card class made on Sunday.  I love making column cards and once you get the hang of it, they are fun to make.  This one was made with the stamp bundle "Gather Moments" which is an Online Exclusive. You won't find it in any of the catalogs.  It is a Distinktive stamp set which means it has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step, creating photo-realistic images.  I was inspired by Dani Gurrola's card.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Gathering Moments (Distinktive)

Cardstock:  Early Espresso, Basic White, Cajun Craze, Gathering Together DSP

Ink:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze

Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Gathering Moments Dies, Gathering Leaves 3D Embossing Folder, Streaked Dots or Cajun Craze & Gold Dots, Early Espresso Linen Thread, Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots

1.     The base of the card is Early Espresso cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 10” and scored at ½”, 1-1/2”, 3-1/2”, and 4-1/2”.  Use the Bone Folder to burnish the score marks.

2.    Cut the Gathering Together DSP at 7/8” x 4-1/8”; 1-7/8” x 4-1/8”; and 7/8” x 2-7/8”.  Adhere the DSP to the left flap and front flap.  (The 7/8” x 4-1/8” will go on the right side of the next step #3).  I like to use Tear & Tape for this and adhere it to the ½” flap.  Remove the backing.  When you close, be sure you are seeing the DSP on left side and front flap when to adhere.

3.    Cut another Early Espresso at 3” x 5” and score at 3-1/2” and 4-1/2”.  Adhere the 7/8” x 4-1/8” DSP on the right side. The Cajun Craze cardstock is cut at 3-3/8” x 4-1/8” and inserted into the Gathering Leaves 3D Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Adhere to the right side of your card.

4.    Now, take your 3” x 5” Early Espresso column and center it on your card.  Use Tear and Tape on the 1/2” flap.  It should be about an inch from the right side.  Remove the backing and adhere.  Add adhesive about a ½” on the other side to adhere to the first column you made.

5.    Now, decorate the front, you will need to cut Basic White cardstock at 3-1/4” x 2-3/4”.  Add the Old Olive DSP strip cut at 1-3/1/4” at bottom.  Ink up the sentiment with Cajun Craze or Early Espresso ink and stamp at an angle.

6.    Ink up the leaves and mushrooms with the ink pads provided and die cut with the Gather Moments Dies in the Stampin’ Cut & Machine.

7.    Adhere the green leaf first with adhesive, the Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze leaves.  Tie a bow with the Linen Thread and then add the Early Espresso mushroom with a Stampin’ Dimensional over it.

Peace on Earth - Shutter Card

Sadly, I had to put my 6-year-old cat, Milo down last Monday which was National Black Cat Day.  He developed a kidney infection, but they couldn't make him better.  It was hard to say good-bye!  So, I've been taking care of him and not much stamping.  I had to cancel a workshop I had last Sunday, but I plan on doing it this Sunday.

Here are my instructions for making this card:

Stamp Set:  Peace on Earth

Cardstock:  Cloud Cover, Secret Sea, Basic White, Peaceful Garden DSP

Ink:  Secret Sea

Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Stylish Shapes, Bone Folder, Peace on Earth Dies, 2-3/8” Circle Punch, Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pencil, Ruler, Paper Snips, Misty Moonlight & Silver Edged Ribbon, Hues of Blue Flowers

1.     The base of the card is Cloud Cover cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 2-1/8” and 6-3/8” and 3” x 5-1/2”.  Fold and burnish with the Bone Folder to create a gate fold card.

2.    The DSP is cut at 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” (x2) for the front panels.  Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    Using the largest Stylish Shape Dies, die cut a circle from the Secret Sea cardstock.  Then use the second largest Stylish Shapes Dies to cut a Cloud Cover circle.  Layer the two circles together.

4.    Cut Basic White cardstock at ½” x 4” for the sentiment. Ink up “Peace, Love & Joy” with Secret Sea ink.

5.    Use Basic White scraps for the doves.  Add the doves to the circles and adhere the sentiment with Multipurpose Glue.  Adhere the left side of the circles to the left panel, but add the ribbon underneath long enough that you can tie a bow on the right side.

6.    Then cut 3” x 5-1/2” Cloud Cover cardstock for the inside.  Cut the DSP at 2-3/4” x 5-1/4”.  Use a 2-3/8” Circle Punch through both layers in the center.  Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the layers to the bottom and top but only adhere the bottom for now.

7.    For the shutters:  Cut the DSP at 3-1/2” x 4” and cut 2 of them.  Score at ½” on the 3-1/2” end on both pieces.  Measure 2” on the 4” side and mark with a pencil.  At the 2” pencil mark, measure 1-1/2” up and make a pencil mark.  With the Paper Snips, trim from center pencil mark to both points so it creates what looks like a banner.  On the ½” side, attach Tear & Tape.  Put both pieces under the Center Bridge and making sure to line them up eventually underneath the Center Bridge.  Place the adhesive side up to the inside flap just beside the score line.  Then close the front flap over it so it adheres.  Then line up the other side and do the same.

8.    Now, you can adhere the top Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9.    Add three of the Hues of Blue Flowers to the front Circles.
