Beautiful Butterflies Birthday

This is a card that Selene Kempton did for the February Card Club.  It is one of my favorites and the butterfly is painted with Wink of Stella and it is so gorgeous in person.  The base of the card is Melon Mambo and the Designer Series Paper is Beautiful Bokeh.  I stamped the butterfly stamp directly on to the DSP and then die-cut a Basic White butterfly.  I only glue on the body so the wings can flutter!

Meant to Bee Matchbook Pop-Up Card

This is a card that we did at card club on Sunday.  It is a matchbook, pop-up card.  The layout idea was from Juli Baca but I used different stamps, cardstock, DSP, etc.  It is such a fun card and technique.  There are so many possibilities of different stamps set and cardstock you can use to make these fun cards.

Stamp Sets:  Meant to Bee, Bee My Valentine

Cardstock:  Petunia Pop, Basic White, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Vellum, Cute as Can Bee DSP

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Petunia Pop, Daffodil Delight

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Meant to Bee Dies, Bee Builder Punch, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Petunia Pop Ribbon. Wink of Stella

1.     The base of the card is Petunia Pop cardstock cut at 3-3/4” x 9-1/4” and scored at 5-1/4”

2.    The flap of the card is Petunia Pop cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 2-1/2” and scored at 1-1/4”.  Attach the flap by adhering glue only to the inside of the back piece, not the front.

3.    The DSP is cut at 3-1/2” x 4-1/4” for the front and for the flap it is cut at 1” x 4”.

4.    For the inside:  Cut Basic White cardstock at 3-1/2” x 9-1/4” and scored at 5”.

5.    With the folded edge at the top of the Paper Trimmer, cut a ¾” slit at 1-1/2” and at 2”.  Score at the base of the slit and use a Bone Folder to crease it evenly.

6.    Ink up the sentiment “Love this Life” with Tuxedo Black Memento on the Basic White, but below the flap.

7.    Ink up the sentiment “We are Meant to Bee” with Tuxedo Black Memento at the very bottom right.  Ink up the heart with Petunia Pop and stamp by the sentiment.

8.    Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back of the Basic White but making sure the scored line and the pop up (pops out) are in alignment with the fold.

9.    Die-cut a Basic White hexagon with the Meant to Bee dies.  Stamp the honeycomb from Bee My Valentine stamp with Daffodil Delight ink.

10.  Die-cut the bees from Daffodil Delight and ink up their stripes/stinger with Tuxedo Black Memento. Ink up their faces with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Die-cut the wings from Vellum, the antennas from Basic Black cardstock.

11.   Adhere to the body of the bees with Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Glue Dots.  Adhere the large bee with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the hexagon.  Adhere the smaller bee with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the left of the big bee.

12.  Wrap ribbon around the Flap and tie in a bow.  Add Wink of Stella to the bee’s wings on the DSP.

Storybook Friends with Full of Life DSP

I thought this DSP looked somewhat like stained glass, so I had to figure out the measurement so that I could get the cross bar centered correctly, so it's not a card that I could duplicate with this Designer Series Paper, but I love how it turned out.
There are so many different Cross Cards out there, but I've not seen one made with this DSP.

Stamp Set:  Storybook Friends (“Easter Greetings” on the back)

Cardstock:  Shaded Spruce, Garden Green, Basic White, 6” x 6” Full of Life DSP

Ink:  Garden Green

Other:  Paper Trimmer, Adhesive

1.      The base of the card is Shaded Spruce cardstock cut 3-1/2” x 5-1/2”

2.    The mechanism pop-up is Garden Green cardstock cut at 5” x 5-1/2” and scored at 1”, 1-7/8”, 3-1/8”, and 4”.

3.    The cross bar is Garden Green cardstock cut at 1-1/4” x 3-1/8” and the DSP is cut at 1-1/8” x 3”.

4.    The other DSP layers are (2) – 7/8” x 5-3/8” for the sides and (1) 1-1/8” 5-3/8” for the middle.

5.    For the back, cut Basic White cardstock at 3-1/4” x 5-1/4” with a ¾” x 3-1/4” DSP at the bottom.  Ink up the Easter Greetings with Shaded Spruce or Garden Green.

6.    You can also attach a ribbon bow, if desired using the ½” Silver and White Sheer Ribbon (not pictured on card).  I just didn’t want to take away too much from the cross-bar paper.

Simply Said with Mixed Media Florals

This is a card that I made using the Mixed Media Florals DSP and the stamp set said Simply Said.
They go so well together because I love all the sentiments in the set and the paper is absolutely gorgeous. I used Bobo Blue cardstock for the base which is a current In-Color that will retire soon.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Simply Said

Cardstock:  Boho Blue, Basic Black, Mixed Media Florals DSP

Ink:  Boho Blue

Other:  Paper Trimmer, ½” Silver & White Sheer Ribbon, Basic Rhinestones, Wink of Stella

1.     The base of the card is Boho Blue cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Basic Black cardstock cut at 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”.

3.    The third layer is the Mixed Media Florals DSP cut at 3-3/4” x 5”.  Color the flowers in with Wink of Stella.

4.    Attach the ribbon around both layers and tie a bow.  Add to the card with adhesive.

5.    Add the Rhinestones.
