Bee Mine Valentine - Side Step Fancy Fold

This is my first time making a Side-Step Fancy Fold card and I fell in love with the one Amy Frillici made on her blog, so I wanted to re-create it.  It uses the FREE Sale-a-Bration 12" x 12" Most Adorned Designer Series Paper on page 9 you can earn with a $50 order.  When I first saw the DSP, I didn't think I was interested because it had a lot of gold foil in it which I didn't think I needed.  Boy, was I wrong.  It has beautiful Real Red and Flirty Flamingo designs in the paper too such as this one.  It makes some Valentine's Cards.

Here is how I made this card:

Stamp Set:  Bee Mine Valentine

Cardstock:  Real Red, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Most Adored SAB DSP

Ink:  Real Red

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Thoughtful Expressions Dies, Give it a Whirl  Dies, Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals,

1.     The base of the card is Real Red cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 1”, 2” and 5-1/4” on the 8-1/2” side.

2.    Cut another Real Red cardstock at 2-1/2” x 5-1/2” and scored at 1-1/4”.

3.    The DSP is cut at 3” x 5-1/4”, 2/3” x 5-1/4” and 2-1/4” x 4”.  Adhere to panels with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

4.    Adhere the front panel to the left side at the bottom matching the bottom flap, but only put a small bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back of the base so that it will stand up gluing only about 1/8” of the flap.

5.    Ink up “Happy Valentine’s Day” from Bee Mine Valentine with Real Red ink on Basic White cardstock.  Die-cut with the Thoughtful Expressions Dies.  Die-cut a Real Red larger die and layer them together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere the left side with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

6.    Die-cut a Flirty Flamingo heart and a Real Red heart from the Give It a Whirl Dies.  Add Flirty Flamingo Twine bow with a Glue Dot.

7.  Add 3 Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots.

Bee Mine – Honey Sticks Treat Holder

This adorable honey sticks holder was an idea from Kitchen Table Stamper and so I had to make one too.  I bought the honey sticks on Amazon Honey Sticks and you get100 of them for about $20.  They are great to put in your tea, so it makes a great little gift to give to someone.  The little bees are so adorable!  I used the Fluffiest Friends Dies for the beehive and used the Twisted Rope Embossing Folder after I die-cut it out.
Here are my full instructions:

Stamp Set: Bee My Valentine

Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Basic White, Basic Black

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tuxedo Black Memento

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Bee My Valentine Dies, Fluffiest Friends Dies, Radiating Stitches Dies, Twisted Rope Embossing Folder, Paper Snips. Double Oval Punch, Glue Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Honey Sticks on Amazon (100 in a bag). 1/8” Circle Punch, ½” Circle Punch, ¼” Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon

1.      Die cut a Daffodil Delight “beehive” die from the Fluffiest Friends Dies.  Then insert the beehive into the Twist Rope Embossing Folder and run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Use a Dauber or Blending Brush to sponge the edges of the beehive.

2.    Use the Double Oval Punch to create a door to the beehive using Basic Black and Basic White cardstock.  Glue the oval together and attach to the beehive but cut off the edge of the ovals with the Paper Snips.

3.    Punch a hole at the top with a ½” Circle Punch.  Insert two Honey Sticks.

4.    Ink up the bee stripes with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Daffodil Delight cardstock. Attach the face stamp of choice.  Punch out with the Bee Builder Punch.

5.    Ink up the wings (big hearts) and little hearts and with Real Red ink on Basic White cardstock.  Punch out with the Bee Builder Punch and attach the wings and antennas to the bee with Glue Dots or Multipurpose Glue.

6.    Attach the little hearts on the beehive with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals or Glue Dots.

7.    Ink up the sentiment “Love You” on Basic White cardstock and punch out the circle from the Radiating Stitches Dies.

8.    Punch a 1/8” hole in the Circle tag with a 1/8” Circle Punch. Wrap the ribbon around the bottom of the Honey Sticks and pull through both ends of the 1/8” hole and tie a bow.
