Festive Friends - Slider Card

This is a card technique that I learned this weekend.  This is a slider card, and the technique originally came from Susan Campfield but I watch a video from Erica Cerwin on how to make one and this is my version.  She made a Fall card.  These were so much fun, I'd like to make more.  I used the Festive Friends stamp set and I hadn't used the little elf yet, so I chose him, and I did a little paper-piecing on him from the same Designer Series Paper.  The DSP is from the Christmas Tags & More 6" x 6" Mix & Match Specialty Paper.  The sentiments are from Ornamental Christmas.  #CreativeConventionOnline, #Stampinup

Amber Autumn - Shutter Card

This is another shutter card that I made using the Online Exclusive stamp set "Amber Autumn" and the Gathering Together Designer Paper is so beautiful with his fall colors and a little bit of gold.  They are so fun to make.

Stamp Set:  Amber Autumn

Cardstock:  Cajun Craze, Basic White, Crushed Curry, Gathering Together DSP

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento

Blending Pens:  Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive,

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, 2-3/8” Circle Punch, Spotlight on Nature Die, 2-7/8” Ornamental Circle Die, Tear & Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pencil, Ruler, Paper Snips

1.     The base of the card is Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 2-1/8” and 6-3/8”.  Fold and burnish with a Bone Folder to create a gate-fold card.

2.    Cut the Gathering Together Designer Series Paper at 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” and cut 4 for them.  Add to the two front panels and the two inside panels.

3.    Cut Basic White cardstock at 2-3/4” x 3-1/2” and adhere to the inside center of the card.

4.    The Center Bridge is Cajun Craze cardstock cut at 3” x 5-1/2” and the Gathering Together DSP is 2-7/8” x 5-1/4”.  Layer the DSP to the Cajun Craze cardstock with adhesive and die cut the center with the 2-3/8” Circle Die from the Spotlight on Nature Die or the 2-3/8 Circle Punch.  Add 3 or 4 Dimensionals at the top and bottom, but do not remove the backings from the top yet.

5.    Next do the Shutters: Crushed Curry cardstock at 3-1/2” x 4” and cut 2 of them.  Score at ½” on the 3-1/2” end on both pieces.  Measure 2” on the 4” side and mark with a pencil.  At the 2” pencil mark, measure 1-1/2” up and make a pencil mark.  With the Paper Snips, trim from center pencil mark to both points so it creates what looks like a banner.  On the ½” side, attach adhesive.  Put both pieces under the Center Bridge and making sure to line them up eventually underneath the Center Bridge.  Place the adhesive side up to the inside flap just beside the score line.  Then close the front flap over it so it adhere.  Then line up the other side the same.

6.    Now, you can pull the backings off the top Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere in place.

7.    Decorate the front by punching out a Cajun Craze circle with Ornamental Christmas Circle Die.  Ink up the stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White Cardstock and color with the Stampin’ Blends.  Die cut it out.  Adhere with Dimensionals to the Craze Craze circle and adhere to the left front panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  SHOP WITH ME

Ornamental Christmas - Shutter Card

This a shutter card that I made.  I was inspired by Lisa Curcio's shutter card because of the DSP she used, but I changed the front of my card. The 12" x 12" Modern Christmas Specialty DSP is so beautiful with the gold, black and white.   I'm having so much fun making shutter cards.  Once you make the first shutter card, the rest are easier to make.  Here are my instructions for making this card:

Stamp Sets:  Ornamental Christmas

Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White, 12” x 12” Modern Christmas Specialty DSP

Ink:  Memento Black and White Embossing Powder

Other: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, 2-3/8” Circle Punch, Spotlight on Nature Dies, Tear and Tape, Multipurpose Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Pencil, Ruler, White Embossing Powder, Paper Snips,

1.     The base of the card is Basic Black cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 2-1/8” and 6-3/8”.  Fold and burnish with a Bone Folder to create a gate-fold card.

2.    Cut the Designer Series Paper at 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” and cut 4 for them.  Add to the two front panels and the two inside panels.

3.    Cut Basic White cardstock at 2-3/4” x 3-1/2” and adhere to the inside center of the card.

4.    The Center Bridge is Basic Black cardstock cut at 3” x 5-1/2” and the DSP is 2-7/8” x 5-1/4”.  Layer the DSP to the Basic Black with adhesive and punch out the center with the 2-1/2” Circle Die from the Spotlight on Nature Die.  Add 3 or 4 Dimensionals at the top and bottom, but do not remove the backings from the top yet.

5.    Next do the Shutters: Cut Basic Black cardstock at 3-1/2” x 4” and cut 2 of them. Put both pieces under the Center Bridge and making sure to line them up eventually underneath the bridge.  Place the adhesive side up to the inside flap just beside the score line.  Then close the front flap over it so it adheres.  Then line up the other side the same.

6.    Now, you can pull the backings off the top Dimensionals to adhere in place.

7.    Decorate the front by punching out a Basic Black circle with the Ornamental Christmas Circle Die and one of the DSP with the stars.  Adhere together and attach with Dimensionals on the left front panel.

8.    Ink up the sentiment “Tis the Season” with Versamark” and add White Embossing Powder and heat set with the Heat Tool.  Trim out the sentiment with the Paper Snips and attach to the circle with Mini Dimensionals. SHOP WITH ME
