Festive Friends - Gift Card Holder

This is a card I made for my September Swaps that I hope to send by Thursday of this week.  I'm too busy to try to go to the post office today, but they are finished except for putting on the red and white peppermints and putting them in their envelopes.  I love this little Santa and it's never too early to start making Christmas cards.  The white label with the tree is meant to insert, but I left it out so you can see what it looks like.  You can also include money or a gift card.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Festive Friends

Cardstock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Basic White

Ink:  Memento Black, Garden Green

Stampin’ Blends:  Real Red, Basic Black, Ivory, Medium Light for Skin Tone, Petal Pink for Cheeks

Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Glass & Gardens EF, 1” Circle Punch, Festive Friends Dies, Real Red & White Adhesive Backed Peppermints, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Tear & Tape, Wink of Stella

1.     The base of the card is Real Red cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” and 8-1/4”.  Use a Bone Folder to crease the scored marks.  Fold the card in half at the 5-1/2” mark and then fold the other score line to the top of the card to create a portrait card/gift card

2.     Use the 1” Circle Punch do a half punch in the middle of the card.  This will be where the gift card/message can be pulled out of the pocked.  You can use a Tear & Tape, but you will need to cut it in half length wise to adhere around the top edge and side edge, but making sure the gift card will fit without getting stuck!

3.     The Basic Black cardstock for the left front of the card is 2-1/2” x 4” and inserted into the Glass & Gardens EF and ran through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  Adhere to the top flap.

4.     Ink up the Santa stamp with Memento Black ink on Basic White cardstock.  Color him in with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends for his suit and hat.  Use the Basic Black Blends for his boots and gloves.  Skin Tone for his face and Petal Pink for his cheeks.  Then use Wink of Stella on his fur and beard.

5.     Adhere to Basic Black cardstock cut at2-3/4” x 3” with Stampin’ Dimensionals and layer onto the Real Red cardstock cut at 3” x 3-1/4”.  Adhere the top of the layers with Multipurpose Glue to the front flap but leave space for the Basic White label “Santa’s Coming to Town”.  Adhere it with Stampin’ Dimensionals at the top onto the embossed Basic Black layer.

6.     Ink up the sentiment “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” with Memento Black ink and also Garden Green for the tree.  Die-cut the pull label and fold in half and glue together.  Attach the Peppermints inside the holes and 3 on the outside of the card.
