Snowman Cookie Cutter Box

This is a window box that has a snowflake cookie cutter from Target in it with Hershey's Kisses.  It would make a great gift for a friend or family member who likes to bake cookies.  Cathryn In the Pink's Designs video taught me how to make this box.  I changed the sentiment which is from last year's Snowflake Wishes because I thought the sentiment really went well with this box.  I also didn't use the rabbit.  Here are the products I used for this box:

Stamp Sets:  Snowman Magic, Snowflakes Wishes (retired)

Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Basic White, Storybook Gnomes DSP, Wonderful Snowflakes, Window Sheets

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Balmy Blue

Stampin’ Blends: Balmy Blue, Pumpkin Pie

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Bone Folder, Paper Snips, 3/4" Circle Punch, Snowman Dies, 3/8” White Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots

1.     The box is made from Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 6-1/4” x 10-1/2” inches.  On the long side, score at 1”, 4-3/4”, 5-3/4”, and 9-1/2” using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  Turn the cardstock and on the short side score at 1” and 5-1/4”.  Fold on the score lines and burnish with the Bone Folder.

2.    In the landscape position, use the Paper Snips to cut up to each score line and turn it and do the opposite side the same way.  At each tab, cut a sliver off of each of the square tabs so that will line up when you make your box.

3.    To make the window, cut the DSP at 3-1/4” x 4” and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid to the right of the box.  Let it dry!  This will be the top.  Use the 3” Stylish Shape circle to die cut it out, but when you run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Die Machine, bring one side flap up so that it doesn’t get cut.  It will leave a mark but it will be covered with DSP.

4.    Add a 3-1/2” x 4” Window Sheet on the inside of the circle using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Let dry!

5.    Now start over on the left tabs and add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to both tabs and line up with the side.  Then do the middle tabs the same way and attach them to the bottom of the box making sure they line up.

6.    Then last tabs are going to be the top of the box which makes a flap to go over the box.

7.    To cut the DSP for the front, sides, and back:  Cut two at ¾” x 4 for the front and back.  Cut two at ¾” x 3-1/2” for the two sides.  For the front flap, use a ¾” punch to cut a divot so it will be easier to open the box lid.

8.    Put the leftover circle you cut out in the middle of the inside of the box with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

9.    Take a snowflake from the Wonderful Snowflakes and add it to the right bottom side of the box.  Adhere a little bit of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center and drag it towards the outside flakes.

10.  Ink up the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Balmy Blue cardstock and trim it with the scissors.  Attach with Dimensionals to the bottom left side of the box.

11.   Ink up a snowman, hat, and face with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White scraps.  Ink up the scarf with Balmy Blue ink on Basic White scraps.  Color in the brim of his hat with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend.  Color in his nose with the Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend.  Die-cut pieces with the Snowman Dies.  Glue together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and add to the lower bottom of the box top.  Add a bow with 3/8" White Glittered Organdy in the top left of the box lid with a Glue Dot.
