Love Cats - Valentine Easel Card

This is the Valentine that I'm making for my grandchildren.  The stamp set is called Love Cats from the Mini Catalog January-April 2023.  Since I have a black cat named Milo, I think they will love this card.   It is an easel card so that when you open it up, there are two hearts made with the Heart Punch Pack so that it will stand up.  It was inspired by a card made by Jamie Burton.

Stamp Sets:  Love Cats

Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Real Red, Basic White, 12” x 12” Country Floral Lane

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento

Stampin’ Blend: Real Red

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Stamparatus, Layering Circles Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals, Heart Pearls, Heart Punch Pack

1.     The base of the card is Thick Basic White cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” and 2-1/8”.

2.    The second layer is Real Red cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”.  Layer a Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4” onto it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere to the 2-1/8” flap only.

3.    The Country Floral Lane DSP (hearts) is cut at 1-3/4” x 4-1/2” and layered onto Real Red cardstock cut at 2” x 4-3/4”.  Adhere to the left side of the Basic White leaving a white border and room to add sentiment to the right “Hi There, Valentine” with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

4.    Cut Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5-1/4”.  Die-cut a circle from the 2nd largest Stylish Shapes Dies to make your template for the Stamparatus.

5.    Insert the die-cut Stylish Shapes Basic White circle into the Stamparatus template and ink the cat with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  May have to ink it up several times to get it inked really well.  Color in the heart with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

6.    Layer onto the 2nd largest Real Red scallop from the Layering Circles Dies with Multipurpose Glue.  Attach Dimensionals to the back of the layers and attach to the center top portion of the card.

7.    Embellish with 3 hearts from the Heart Peals.  You can color them with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

8.    Punch out a Basic White heart and a Real Red scallop heart from the Punch Pack.  Ink up a sentiment of choice on the Basic White heart.  Adhere to the scallop Real Red heart.  Put Dimensionals on the back and adhere to the bottom of the inside of the Thick Basic White card to create an easel card.
