I wanted to make a Fall birthday card for a friend/customer of mine and I found a card similar to this one on TAMS by Michele Reynolds. I used the 3D Leaf Fall Embossing Folder and Hello Harvest set instead for my leaves.
Other: Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper
Trimmer, 3D Leaf Fall Embossing Folder, Leaf Label and Amber Gem Combo Pack,
3/8” Gold & Vanilla Satin Edge Ribbon, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots,
Stampin’ Dimensionals
1. The
base of the card is Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored
at 4-1/4” in the middle.
2.The second layer is Pumpkin Pie cardstock
cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and adhered to the front of the card with Multipurpose
Liquid Glue.
3.The third layer is Gingham Cottage DSP cut
at 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”.
4.Take the 3D Leaf Fall Embossing Folder and
rub the Pumpkin Pie ink pad on the logo side.
Insert a leaf from the Leaf Labels and run it through the Stampin’ Cut
and Emboss Machine. Set aside for now.
5.Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from
Beauty Abounds and stamp in the lower right hand with the Pumpkin Pie ink. Use a Stampin’ Pierce Mat for the
Photopolymer stamps.
6.Ink up the leaves with Pumpkin Pie ink from
the Hello Harvest set and stamp three of them on the front of the card but
place the embossed leaf in the corner so you know where to stamp your leaves.
7.Cut 3-1/2” of the ribbon and tie in a
bow. Add a Glue Dot and add the ribbon
bow to the stem. Put Dimensionals on the
back of the leaf and adhere it to the left upper corner.
8. Add 3 of the Amber
Gems. One of them needs to be placed
over the hole in the leaf.
This card was inspired by a couple cards that Julie Gilson made but I changed the colors completely to make it a cute Halloween Gnome card. I did learn how to make the candy corn hat from Julie, however.

This was a very quick, easy card to make using the Mountain Air stamp set. There are only 7 stamps in this set, but when you look in the annual catalog on page 95, it looks like 14. That is because it is a reversible set. You use one side for the background silhouette and the other side for the detailed texture image. If you purchase this set, you will definitely need the Clear Block I to mount the trees and mountains, but you will need a, b, and c for the other stamps in the set. It is also a Photopolymer set which is a clear set that makes the placement of the stamp image a lot easier. There is also a coordinating die that goes with it called Majestic Mountain Dies on Page 172. Although I didn't use it with this card, it comes with two extra beautiful tree dies and I made a card with those earlier on my blog. You can see both the stamps and dies on my website: MY WEBSITE
Stamp Set:Mountain Air (Reversible Stamps), Peaceful
Moments
Cardstock: Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Basic White
Ink: Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Smoky Slate
Other: Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy, Clear Block I, Multipurpose
Liquid Glue
1.The base of the card is Balmy Blue
cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.
2.The Garden Green cardstock is cut at 3-7/8”
x 5-1/8” and adhered to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
3.The Basic White cardstock is cut at 3-3/4”
x 5”.
4.On the Basic White cardstock ink up the
background mountain stamp mounted on Block I with Balmy Blue ink second
generation and stamp about 2 inches down from the top. Clean the stamp with the Shammy. Now, reverse
it and use the textured image of the mountain stamp and ink it up with Balmy
Blue again but do the first generation and stamp slightly over and down from the first
mountain image.
5.Next take the tree's background stamp and
mount it on Clear Block I. Ink it up with
Smoky Late and second generation. Clean
it off with the Shammy. Put on the
textured trees and ink up the trees with Garden Green ink and stamp a little
offset from the Smoky Slate trees.
6.Ink up the birds with Smoky Slate ink and
stamp above the mountains.
7.Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Peaceful Moments stamp set with Garden Green ink and stamp below the trees on
the right.
