Playing in the Rain - Triple Panel Z Card

Here is another card I made doing the Triple Panel Z Card but used the Playing in the Rain set with the Rain or Shine DSP in the Mini Catalog.  The Rain or Shine DSP is retiring so if you want it better order it before it is gone forever.

Stamp Set:  Playing in the Rain

Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Mango Melody, Rain or Shine DSP

Ink:  Old Olive

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Playing in the Rain Dies, Scoring Tool, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder.  Loose Daisy Embellishments, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots

1.     The Base of the card is Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 7-1/4” and scored at 1-1/2” and 3” on the long side with the Simple Scored Scoring Tool.

2.    The second layer is Mango Melody cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 7-1/4” and scored at 1-1/2” and 3”.  Then cut with the Paper Trimmer into 3 strips at 1-1/2” wide each.  Burnish the scored lines with the Bone Folder.

3.    Cut the DSP at 1-1/4” x 4” three times using a pattern for the flowers and the sky.  Cut six DSP cut at 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” to continue the pattern using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach to the squares.

4.    Attach the three sections to the card by placing the top section by lining it up flush with the top/side of the card and same for the bottom section.  The middle section can be eye-balled or measure for distance.  Three sections should have a mountain, and then a valley so that when it stands up, you can see a triple panel Z fold card.

5.    Cut a Mango Melody cardstock at 2-3/4” x 3-3/4” and cut the DSP sky at 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” and layer to the Mango Melody.  Cut the grass DSP at 2-1/2” x 1-1/4” and add to the bottom of the sky with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

6.    Ink up the “Happy Day” sentiment with Old Olive ink and stamp it to the upper left in the clouds.

7.    Die-cut the turtle from the DSP and the Playing in the Rain Dies.  Add with Dimensionals.  Add some Loose Daisy Embellishments with Glue Dots to the grass below the turtle.

8.    Adhere the layers to the card with Dimensionals being careful to only adhere them to the strips on the card.

9.    On the back of the card, adhere a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White cardstock and ink up the flowers stamp with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamp it.  Color in the flowers.

Seaside Bay Triple Fold Z Card

This is a Seaside Bay Triple Fold Z Card and I learned how to make it by watching Rose Coleman's video on Fun Fold Friday, but I changed my card a little different than hers.  I love how this card turned out and I can't wait to try other stamp sets and DSP to make more.

Stamp Sets:  Seaside Bay, Peaceful Moments

Cardstock:  Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Coastal Cabana

Ink:  Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Night of Navy, Soft Suede

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Seaside Bay Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Mini Pocket Envelope Dies (oval) ½” Balmy Blue and White Variegated Ribbon, Bone Folder, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Daubers

1.     The box is Night of Navy cardstock cut at 5-1/4” x 5-1/4” and score at 1” on all four sides. You need to cut to the score lines on parallel sides just so they are opposite sides to each other so that you can fold in the end pieces with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to make the base of your box.

2.    Cut another Night of Navy cardstock 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored on the long side at 3-1/2” and 4-5/8” and burnish the score lines with the Bone Folder.  This is the wrap-around for your box.

3.    Cut the DSP at 5-1/8” x 5-1/8” and score at 1” on all four sides.  Do the same as the box.  This is the insert for the box.  Glue it inside with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

4.    Use Snail Adhesive on the inside of the Night of Navy wrap-around and adhere ribbon so that you tie in a box at the front of your box.  You will cover the inside with 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” DSP (shells).

5.    Cut the DSP for the scenery at 3-1/4” x 3-1/4” and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Die-cut Crumb Cake using the long die for cutting the beach.  Ink up the shells/sand with Crumb Cake and a Dauber.  Adhere to the bottom of the DSP with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

6.    Die-cut Coastal Cabana grass and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue tucked under the sand.  Die-cut Petal Pink shells and sponge with a dauber and adhere with Mini Dimensionals.

Products I used:

7.    Ink up the birds with Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake cardstock and die-cut.  Add just one bird with a Dimensional.

8.    Die-cut an oval from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies.  Add Dimensionals and attach to the top right of the box.

9.    Die-cut a small Balmy Blue label with the Stylish Shapes with the sentiment “Thank You for Everything” and attach to the top of the box over the DSP.
