BBQ Master Apron

This is another card made with the BBQ Master stamp set.  The original idea came from another demo, Leena Girsa's video.  She used the arches to make her apron.  It would make a great masculine Father's Day card or Birthday card for the grill master in your life.  I love even the little utensils.  You could use Silver Foil, but I used the Lunar Lustre.  I didn't have the Gray Granite Ribbon, but I've ordered it since.

My instructions after watching her video and making the card:

Stamp Set:  BBQ Master

Cardstock:  Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Basic White, Cajun Craze, Lunar Lustre, Cute as a Bug DSP

Ink:  Memento Black, Poppy Parade, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Everyday Arches, BBQ Master Dies, Dauber, Pencil, Ruler, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Moody Palette Glossy Dots, Ribbon of choice

1.     The base of the card is Basic Black cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11 and scored at 2-3/4” x 5-1/2”.

2.    Poppy Parade cardstock is cut at 2-5/8” x 4-1/8” (2 times).

3.    On the top Poppy Parade, ink up the fire stamp with Poppy Parade ink (tone on tone) and randomly stamp all over.  Adhere it to the top of the fold and the other below the fold. No need to stamp it as it won't show.

4.    To make the apron, cut the Cute as a Bug DSP at 4” x 5-1/4” and Basic Black cardstock at 4” x 5-1/4” and glue together, leaving no border.  With a pencil and ruler, measure 1-1/4” at the top on each side.  Then measure 2” from the top edge on each side and make pencil marks to know where to die cut.  Take the 4th largest Everyday Arches die and lay it at the marks to die-cut the apron at your pencil marks.

5.    To make the pocket, use the 4th from the smallest arch die using the DSP. Cut down to 1-3/4”.  Ink up the sentiment “to the Grill Master” with Memento Black Ink.

6.    Die-cut your utensils from the Lunar Lustre or Silver Foil.  Die-cut the mittens and sauces with Poppy Parade cardstock and ink.  Add Cajun Craze to one of the sauce bottles.  Add a strip of Seal at the back of the pocket to attach your utensils, etc. Then add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back to attach to the apron.

7.    For the inside:  Cut Poppy Parade cardstock at 4-1/8” x 4-1/8” and the Basic White at 4” x 4”.  Ink up a sentiment “Happy Birthday” or “Happy Father’s Day” with black ink.

8.    Ink up the grill with Poppy Parade ink and stamp at the bottom left of the 4” x 4” Basic White cardstock.

9.    Ink up the flames with Crushed Curry ink.  With a Dauber, add Poppy Parade ink at the bottom.  Adhere to the inside of the grill.

10.  Attach four Dots to the apron.  Attach 4 inches of ribbon with Glue Dots to the back side of the apron.
