Waterside Retreat - Relax - Birthday Card

This is this month's swap card that I made using the Waterside Retreat bundle.  I also incorporated the April Paper Pumpkin called Lakeside Retreat for part of making my card.  The techniques I used were Water Painters on the Adirondack chair, lots of layering, embossing the word Relax with White Embossing Powder, and my Heat Tool.  The stripes on the front were from the Paper Pumpkin, but the Seagull paper was from the 12" x 12" Riverside Retreat DSP.  This could be for a man or woman card.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Relaxing Waterside

Cardstock:  Misty Moonlight, Basic White, Pecan Pie, 12” x 12” Waterside Retreat DSP

Ink:  Secret Sea, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive, Early Espresso, Versamark, White Embossing Powder

Other:  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, Relaxing Waterside Dies, Party Banner Dies (smallest die),  Water Painter, Heat Tool, April Paper Pumpkin (striped DSP), Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals

1.     The base of the card is Misty Moonlight cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4”.

3.    The third layer is the stripes from the Paper Pumpkin card, which is 5-1/2” x 8-1/2”, cut off from the bottom to make two layers, so that each measures 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”.  Layer onto the Basic White with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

4.    Adhere to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

5.    Cut Misty Moonlight cardstock at 3-1/8” x 4-1/8”.  Cut Basic White cardstock at 3” x 4, and the DSP at 2-7/8” x 3-7/8.  Layer all together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then pop up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the center of the card.

6.    Ink up the Adirondack chair with Secret Sea ink on a scrap of Basic White, and color in with the Misty Moonlight ink and the Water Painter. Let dry!  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

7.     Ink up the seagrass with Old Olive and Early Espresso ink.  Adhere to the DSP and die-cut the cat tails with Pecan Pie ink, and attach to the right side of the seagrass.  Adhere Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the card.

8.    Die-cut the smallest Party Banner die with Misty Moonlight cardstock.  Ink up “Relax” with Versamark and add the white Embossing Powder.  Heat set with the Heat Tool.  Adhere with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9.    On the inside, I used the flying seagulls from the Paper Pumpkin and the sentiment “Have a Great Birthday” in Misty Moonlight ink.  Also, add the strip you cut off from the bottom of the PP cards to the bottom.

You must be a Paper Pumpkin subscriber to get the refill on this kit.
