Wetlands by the Tide

Here is another beach scene I created using the sandpipers from the  Wetlands stamp set, the shell from the By the Tide set, an the "Happy Birthday" from Rose Wonder (2016 Occasions). 

• The base of my card is Tempting Turquoise cardstock cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4" in the middle.
• The second layer is Basic Black cardstock cut at 4" x 5-1/4".
• The third layer is Whisper White cut at 3-3/4" x 5".
• The fourth layer is Crumb Cake cut at 2" x 5" but torn along the long edge and sponged with Soft Suede to create the beach.  Stamp "Happy Birthday" in Soft Suede ink.
• For the sky and ocean, I used Tempting Turquoise ink lightly over half the Whisper White.   The other half I used Crumb Cake to create the beach.
• I stamped the sandpipers with Archival Basic Black ink.  I used the Gel Pen to create waves.
• I added the Crumb Cake cardstock that I had already prepared with Snail Adhesive to the bottom of my card.
• I stamped the shell on Whisper White cardstock and used the Blushing Bride marker to color it in. I also edged it with a Soft Suede marker.   I added the Clear Wink of Stella to make it shiny.
• Then cut it out with Paper Snips and add Dimensionals to adhere it to the beach.

By the Tide

This is a masculine card I made but cased it from Janet Holmes.  I just love how she used the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack (soon to retire).  She used the Guy Greetings but I used the Wetlands stamp set.  It also uses the set By the Tide.  The cardstock colors are Basic Gray, Whisper White.  The ink colors are Smoky Slate, Island Indigo, and Memento Black.  The Baker's Twine finishes off.

Pop Up Box Card By the Tide and Seashore

This is a Pop-up Box Card that I made earlier this month, but just now posted.  The stamp sets I used are, By the Tide and By the Seashore.  The cardstock is Coastal Cabana with Maritime DSP.  I also used Crystal Effects on the shells and Pearl Basic Jewels.  I will write up the measurements later.
These are so much fun to make and very addictive!

Stamp Sets:  By the Tide, By the Seashore

Cardstock:  Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, and Maritime DSP

Ink:  Real Red, Night of Navy, Pool Party

Other:  Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Paper Snips, Crystal Effects, Rhinestones and Pearls, Dimensionals, Window Sheets, Glue Dots

 

1.     Coastal Cabana cardstock is cut at 8½” x 5½” and scored landscape at 2”, 4”,6”, 8” which leaves ½” on one side on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.  This makes the perfect size to fit inside an A2 envelope to mail.

2.    Turn the cardstock portrait on the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, and scored at 2½” except for the panel next to the ½” which will be the back of the Pop-Up Box card.

3.    Use the Bone Folder to crease all of the scored lines. Use Paper Snips to cut up to the horizontal line.

4.    Trim off part of the ½” narrow section at the 2½” mark.

5.    Use Snail Adhesive or Sticky Strip on the other ½” narrow section to attach to the other side to form the box card.

6.    Cut out two small Coastal Cabana slats to go inside the box card.  They are cut at 3¼” x 1” and scored at 5/8” on each end.  Fold and crease scored ends. Attach inside with Sticky Strip.

7.    I cut the Maritime DSP to fit each side.

8.    I stamped with Real Red and Night of Navy ink on Whisper White cardstock and attached the fish, lobster and seahorse inside the box card on the slats with a window sheet and glue dots.

9.    I stamped the starfish and shells with Night of Navy and
Coastal Cabana ink, cut them out and applied Crystal Effects.  When dry, I attached a pearl to the sand dollar.

10.  Then attach each one to the sides with Dimensionals.

By the Tide

This is a card I made with the By the Tide set.  The cardstock is Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Night of Navy.  All of the ink used was Night of Navy.  I used the 1" Circle Punch and a Dimensional.  The technique is called tearing cardstock.
