Peaceful Cabin on Cork

This is another Peaceful Cabin card for a masculine birthday.  The idea came from Create with Christy.  She made a similar card for her son's birthday.  I stamped on the Cork Specialty Paper before but didn't use the Stamparatus and this time I did.  I also did masking on this card to get the trees in the background behind the cabin.  The masking post-it note I used was very sticky and sort of pulled the ink off, so I would suggest just using a 3" x 5" post-it note, leaving part of the sticky part.

Here are the instructions:

Stamp Sets:  Peaceful Cabin, Shaded Summer

Cardstock:  Evening Evergreen, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Cork Specialty Paper

Ink:  Evening Evergreen, Early Espresso

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Stamparatus, Black Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue,  Dauber

1.     The base of the card is Evening Evergreen cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” in the middle.

2.    The Cork Specialty Paper is cut at 3-5/8” x 3-5/8”.  Insert the Cork Paper into the Stamparatus.  Ink up the cabin with Early Espresso ink and onto the cork until you are satisfied.

3.    Then die-cut a cabin mask from a post-it note with the Cabin Dies in the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Place it over the cabin image.

4.    Ink up the pine tree stamps with Evening Evergreen and use the Stamparatus to stamp the trees until you are satisfied with the results.

5.    The Early Espresso cardstock is cut at 3-3/4” x 3-3/4”.  Layer the cork image on it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Add the Black Dimensionals to the back and adhere to the bottom of the card.

6.    Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday” from the Shaded Summer stamp set with Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock.  Tear the image around the sentiment.  Use a Dauber and Early Espresso ink to give it a burnt-edge look.  Adhere with Dimensionals above the cabin.

  1. Just what I was looking for - a card using cork and this one is so different. I read through the instructions and it was appreciated how you made the mask and to be cautious with the sticky part. Nice to know to use the stamperatus too.
