Playing in the Rain - Turtle - Oh Happy Day

This is a card that I copied from Erica Cerwin's tutorials using the Playing in the Rain Bundle.
Here are my instructions, but some of the colors have retired as I made this card before the color change.  Hopefully, it will inspire you to use some of the new colors.

Stamp Set:  Playing in the Rain

Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Basic White Mango Melody, Old Olive, Soft Suede, Rain or Shine DSP (now retired)

Ink:  Memento Black, Mango Melody, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Stampin’ Blends

Other: Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Playing in the Rain Dies, Contour Scallop Dies, White Seam Binding, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensions

1.     The base of the card is Thick Basic White cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Mango Melody cardstock (now retired) cut at 4” x 5-3/8” and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    The third layer is Rain or Shine DSP cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the Mango Melody cardstock.

4.    Tie the White Seam Binding ribbon around the middle of the two layers before adhering to the front of the card.  Tie a bow on the left side.

5.    Cut and adhere a 3-3/4” X 2-1/2” piece of DSP to a 3-7/8” X 2-5/8” piece of Mango Melody Cardstock. Adhere the stack to the center of a Basic White Contour Scalloped Rectangle. Adhere this stack to the card front with Dimensionals.

6.    Stamp the turtle in Memento Black on Basic White Cardstock. Color the turtle with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and the flower with Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Cut out with the matching die.

7.     Cut two Old Olive types of grass and one Soft Suede stump.

8.    Adhere all four pieces to the left side of the rectangle with Dimensionals.

9.     Stamp the sentiment in Mango Melody on a 1” X 2-1/2” piece of Basic White Cardstock. Cut the right side at an angle and adhere to the rectangle with Stampin’ Seal, coming out from behind the images.
