Simply Wonderful - Thanks

This is a quick card I made using the Simply Wonderful Sale-a-bration set. This set can be earned FREE by placing a $50 product order. The base of my card is Early Espresso and layered with Coastal Cabana.  The Designer Series Paper is Best Day Ever which can also be earned FREE with a $50 product order.  I used the Banners Framelits using Whisper White and Coastal Cabana.  I stamped the "Thanks so very much" with Memento ink close to the bottom of the Whisper White banner and then cleaned off my stamp.  Then I used the Black Basic marker and inked up just the "Thanks" part of the stamp.  Then I colored them in with Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry markers.  I attached the Banners with Dimensionals.

Pleated Fold Card - Birthday Basics

This is a pleated-fold card that uses Painted Blooms DSP from the 2015 Occasions Catalog
.  The cardstock and colors are Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White.

Stamp set:  Butterfly Basics-Occasions “Sending Wishes Your Way”, Big Day-SAB “Happy Birthday” or stamp set of your choice.

Cardstock:  Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White, Painted Blooms DSP

Ink:  Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi

Other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Cutting Pads, Butterfly Thinlets Die, Bone Folder, Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Pearl Basic Jewels, Dryer Sheets

1.       The pleated gate card is Pacific Point that is cut at 5 ¼” x 8 ½” and scored at 2”, 3 1/8”, 5 3/8”, and 6 ½”.

2.       The Painted Blooms DSP is cut at 1 ¾” x 5” for the front panels and attached with Snail Adhesive.

3.       The Painted Blooms DSP is cut at 7/8” x 5” for the inside panels and attached with Snail Adhesive

4.       The inside Whisper White cardstock is 2” x 5” and attached with Snail Adhesive.  Stamp it with Pacific Point ink or Wild Wasabi with stamp sets of your choice.

5.       The pleated gate card is attached to 5 ½” x 4 ¼” Wild Wasabi cardstock.

6.       The Belly Band is Wild Wasbasi and cut at 1” x 11” and scored at 3 3/8” and 7 ¾”.

7.       Wrap around card and use Snail Adhesive to adhere the ends.

8.       To make the butterfly:  Use the Magnetic Platform in the Big Shot.  Put down cutting pad, then dryer sheet unfolded and then folded in half, the 4 ¾” x 4” Pacific Point cardstock, the large butterfly thinlet, and the other cutting pad.  Run it through the Big Shot.  Most of the little pieces will stick to the dryer sheet instead of your butterfly, but if they do they will easily come out.  Dryer sheet can be used over about 3 times.  Attach Pearl Basic Jewels to your butterfly and attach to the belly band with Glue Dots.

Something for Baby

This month, we had a choice to make a baby card or kid's birthday for our monthly swap.  I chose to make a baby card since my daughter is expecting twins soon.  The base of my card is Coastal Cabana and the stamp set is called Something for Baby which can be purchased as a Bundle with the Baby's First Framelit Dies to save 15%.  The background Designer Series Paper is from the SAB catalog called Best Year Ever which can be earned FREE with a $50 order.  I colored the Rhinestones with Coastal Cabana Blendabilities which can also be earned FREE.

Best Day Ever

This is a very manly card that I made because of one I saw and liked on Pinterest by Sam Donald.  The paper reminds me of a red plaid jacket and of course the wood, makes it even more manly. I used three different sheets from the pack of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Pack in the 2015 Occasions catalog.  The base of the card is Early Espresso and the  stamp set is from the Sale-a-Bration set called Best Day Ever and can be earned FREE with a $50 order. I used the Circle Framelits to create the circles.  I used Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.

Creative Blog Hop

Today is Monday and my demo friend Toni Tessler asked me to join her Blog Hop today, so I thought it would be a lot of fun. I also want to share Toni's blog and Kim's blog.  First, I need to post the latest project I've been working on and then answer a few questions about my creativity.

This is a pleated gate fold card that I discovered how to make on another blog.  The first picture shows the inside of my card using the SAB 2015  BIG DAY Stamp set and second shows the front using the BUTTERFLY THINLET on a belly band.  I'll be doing a similar card at my workshop this weekend. So after the weekend, I hope to show the instructions on how I made this card and post another one that I made.

Now to answer the questions about my creativity:

1.  What are you working on now?  Recently, I have been working on SAB and Occasions cards.  I do swaps each month and the theme for February is baby cards or kid's birthday, so working on a lot of those.  I am also going to do some Spring and Easter swaps this month.  I had a friend lose her 14-year old dog to cancer, so making a sympathy card for her. Hope to post a lot of those in the next few days after I get them mailed and they are received.

2.  How does your work differ from others in your genre?  My creations are mostly quick and easy, but also like to have that WOW technique to go along with it.  I don't use a lot of ribbon or buttons, but love using embossing folders, Framelits, dies and thinlets with the Big Shot.

3.  Why do you create what you do?  I have always enjoyed all kinds of crafts such as quilting, tole-painting, calligraphy, etc. but stamping has always been a fascination for me even before I became a demo with Stampin' Up!   I love sharing what I create with others and love meeting new friends who share the same love of stamping that I do.

4.  How does your creativity work?  I love looking at the other blogs and Pinterest to get ideas of how to make certain cards and then I will either case it exactly or add a little bit of my own touch.  Sometimes, I just create cards on my own when I get an idea in my head.

Thanks for stopping by today.

How to Blend a Floral Image with Blendabilities

Big Day with Bow and Lace

This is similar to a card I saw on Pinterest by Chiaki that was also cased so I don't know who created the original card.  I wanted to make a card using the Big Day stamp set from the Sale-a-Bration catalog that I earned FREE by spending $50 in Stampin' Up! product.  I wanted to add a bow to my card using the new Bow Punch that makes these adorable little bows.  I love the color Coastal Cabana and the new Best Year Ever DSP from the Sale-a-Bration catalog had this beautiful paper inside to match my cardstock.  I added a touch of Coastal Cabana Blendability to make the color pop!  I used the Circle Framelits and the Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch to make this fabulous birthday card.

Yuletide Village with Frosted Forest trees in an arch

This is the card that I used for my monthly November swap.  The theme was "Christmas Card" but although there is no message on the...
