Winter Owl

Last night as I was typing the instructions for my card, I heard a hoot owl outside my bedroom window.  How appropriate is that?  I wish I could have seen him, but it was too dark, but hopefully, he or she will come back another night.  This card was inspired by a card I saw of Erica Cerwin.  This card can be for Christmas or even a birthday card.  It would be perfect for a man as I think it is very masculine.

Here are my instructions:

Stamp Set:  Winter Owl

Cardstock:  Balmy Blue, Basic White, Misty Moonlight, Silver Foil

Ink:  Misty Moonlight Balmy Blue, White Craft

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Winter Owl Dies, Snowflake Sky 3D EF. Stylish Shapes Dies, Banners Pick a Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dauber, Blending Brush

1.     The base of the card is Balmy Blue cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and adhered to the base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    The third layer is Misty Moonlight cardstock cut at 3-7/8” x 5-1/8”.  Ink up the branch/tree stamp with Misty Moonlight ink and stamp at the top first and second generations.  Then insert it into the Embossing Folder and run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  With a Blending Brush and White Craft ink, gently add it to the card.

4.    Die-cut the owl from Basic White cardstock using the Winter Owl Dies.  Die-cut the two wings from Silver Foil and trim in half and only using the outer wing portions to adhere to the back of the wings with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Let dry!

5.    Die-cut a circle for the moon from the Stylish Shapes Dies.  Use a Stampin’ Dauber and lightly adhere Balmy Blue to it.  Adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card.

6.    Attach Stampin’ Dimensionals to the owl and adhere above the trees.

7.    Ink up the sentiment “warm Wishes” with Misty Moonlight ink to Basic White strip and use the Banners Pick a Punch to banner one end.  Adhere to the bottom of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

8.    On the inside, ink up the trees again with Misty Moonlight and stamp on the 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White cardstock.  Add the moon stamp at the top.
