Bee My Valentine - Joy Fun Fold Card

This is a Joy Fun Fold card that I created for my club workshop.  My host wanted to learn how to make this card Joy Fun Fold Card technique, and this is what I came up with.    It turned out pretty cute and she really liked it too.  I used the Fluffiest Friends Dies to make the beehive and the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder. It makes a great Valentine's card for a loved one, but it could also be an anniversary card with two large bees facing each other on the front.

Stamp Sets:  Bee My Valentine, Fluffiest Friends

Cardstock:  Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Basic White, Bee Mine 12” x 12” DSP Paper

Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Tuxedo Black Memento, Real Red or Sweet Sorbet, Petal Pink, Wink of Stella

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Fluffiest Friends Dies, Twisted Rope 3D EF, Double Oval Punch, Paper Snips, Bee Builder Punch, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, ¼” Sweet Sorbet Bordered Ribbon, Glue Dots

1.    The base of the card is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.  You want to use the Paper Trimmer to cut diagonally from the top left to the bottom right making sure both points are in the track of the trimmer before cutting.  Save the extra piece for something else.

2.    Cut the DSP at 4” x 5-1/4” and then cut it diagonally from left top point to bottom right point.  Glue the left diagonal DSP piece to the front flap and right diagonal DSP piece to the inside with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    The flap inside is Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 3-1/2” wide by 7-1/4” long and   scored at 3-5/8” in the middle.

4.    The Bee Mine DSP (yellow plaid) is cut at 3-1/4” wide and 3-3/8” long and adhered to the front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  For the beehive, use Daffodil Delight cardstock and die-cut it out from the Fluffiest Friends Dies.  Then use the Twisted Rope 3D Embossing Folder to make it look like a beehive.  Sponge the edges with a Dauber in Daffodil Delight ink..

5.    Punch a Basic White oval with the Double Oval Punch.  Then cut a scallop Black oval using the Double Oval Punch.  Layer together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Attach to the bottom of the beehive.  Trim off the bottom part of the layered ovals with the Paper Snips to the bottom of the beehive.

6.     Ink up little red hearts with Real Red or Sweet Sorbet on Basic White cardstock making sure they are angled correctly so that you can punch them out with the Bee Builder Punch.

7.     On a scrap of Basic White cardstock ink up the bee using Daffodil Delight for the body or punch out Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Use Tuxedo Black Memento for the stripes and the antennas.  For the wings, use Real Red or Sweet Sorbet and then use the Bee Builder Punch.  Adhere together with Multipurpose Glue and then add with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Tie a bow at the bottom of the Beehive with the Sweet Sorbet ribbon and use a Glue Dot to adhere it.

8.     For the inside:  Ink up the flowers and itty bees from Fluffiest Friends stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento all across the bottom of the Daffodil Delight cardstock...

9.     The inside Basic White cardstock is cut at 3-1/4” wide x 3-3/8” long and stamped with the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” with the 3 hearts stamp in Real Red or Sweet Sorbet.

10.   Adhere the inside flap with Multipurpose Glue to the back and position so that it will overlap the diagonal cut on the front.
