Perfect Blend

This card is actually a gift-card holder.  I made several of these for a swap plus for a few friends who were having birthdays.   The stamp sets I used are Perfect Blend, Num Num (Enjoy!) and Something to Say (heart on cup).

Stamp Sets:  Perfect Blend, Num-Num, Something to Say
Cardstock:  In-colors:  Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Whisper White
DSP:  Moonlight DSP Paper Stacks
Ink:  Mossy meadow, Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon markers, Black Stazon
Other:  Envelope Punch Board, Snail Adhesive (or Sticky Strips), Dimensionals, Paper Snips, Bone Folder, Simply Scored, Curly Label Punch

1.     The base of the card is cut at 11” x 4½” and scored at horizonal at 1-3/4” from the left end using the Simply Scored.
2.     Use the Bone Folder to crease the scored mark.
3.     Once you have scored the card base, use the Envelope Punch Board on the unscored end to punch notches 1” from each side which now makes a tab for your card.
4.     Put Sticky Strip or Snail Adhesive on the side edges of the scored end to make a pocket.
5.     Once you’ve made your pocket, tuck in the tab and use a Bone Folder to crease the card where it should naturally fold.
6.     Slider inside is made of Hello Honey and cut at:  3¼” x 6¾” and scored horizonal at ½” x 5” using the Simply Scored.
7.     Put Sticky Strip on the side edges of the scored, inside insert to make a pocket.
8.     Insert it into the pocket of your base card with it centered inside.
9.     Removed the red line at the top of your pocket and simple close the card and it will attach itself to the slider right where should be so that it will pull up when you open the card.
10.   Decorate the front stamping the coffee cup on Whisper White.  I stamped the “heart” from Something to Say with Black Stazon.  Color the cup in with In-color markers and attach to left front of card.
11.   Stamp “Coffee and friends….” on Whisper White cardstock and cut it out with the Curly Label Punch and attach to the right of your card.
12.   Attach a 4” x 1 ½” of DSP at the bottom of your card.  Stamp “Enjoy” label from the Num-Num set on Whisper White cardstock with Black Stazon and cut it out with the Paper Snips.  Color it in with the Hello Honey marker.

Flower Shop and Perfect Pennants

The base of this card is Whisper White.  I added a layer of Pistachio Pudding, but ran it through the Big Shot with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder.  Then I used the Ovals Collection to make an oval in the center and attached to the base of my card.  I stamped "Life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful" inside the oval.  I stamped three Flower Shop flowers with Memento Ink Pad and colored them in with the medium and dark Coastal Cabana Blendabilities and attached them with Dimensionals.  I then added the Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine with a Glue Dot.

Don't you love these new In-colors?  Lost Lagoon and Hello Honey are two of the new In-Colors for this year, but I also used Soft Sky for the base of the card.  The Designer Paper is from the Paper Stacks called Moonlight. The corners of the Lost Lagoon and DSP layers were rounded with the new Paper Project Corner Rounder, and also one side of the banner.  I sponged the edges of the starfish and sand dollar with Lost Lagoon and attached with Dimensionals.

Blended Hope and and Bloom with Hope

This card was made using the new Blendabilities, but I think I need a little more practice with Coastal Cabana markers.  Still, it was a fun card to make by using a masking technique using the big flower from Blended Bloom.  I also used the Daffodil Delight markers for the small Bloom with Hope flowers. The Blendabilities come in a set of 3 markers, per assortment, light, medium and dark for $11.95.  They are on page 212 of the new catalog, and since they are alcohol based markers, you need to use the Memento ink pad which is water-based and fast drying.  This will prevent smearing.. There is also a skin tone assortment.  Just can't wait until they are available to everyone.  The yarn on my card is called Coastal Cabana Thick Baker's Twine which really accents my card, I think. The idea behind this card came from Sandi MacIver.

Wetlands

Wetlands

This is a card I made for a swap last month and just now getting around to posting it.  Stamping has been on hold for me due to the passing of my dear sister-in-law.  I just lost my husband barely six months ago, and now I've lost his sister.  It has been a very emotional time for me.  Also, I can't seem to post the new catalog on this blog for some reason and I keep getting an error but haven't figured out how to fix it yet, so bear with me.

The stamp set I used is Wetlands and the colors in this card are Crumb Cake, Marinia Mist, and Soft Sky.  I used Stazon ink for the birds and tall grass.  It uses the Top Note Bigz Die and I used the Project Life Corner Rounder

Yuletide Village with Frosted Forest trees in an arch

This is the card that I used for my monthly November swap.  The theme was "Christmas Card" but although there is no message on the...
