Sending Love - Happy Birthday

We did this card at a workshop last month and I'm just now posting it here on my blog.  The mailbox is 3-D so you can actually put money inside if you wish for a birthday surprise!    Here is how I made this card:

Stamp Sets:  Sending Love and Zany Zoo

Cardstock:  Thick Basic White, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Basic Black, Sweet Sorbet

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Bone Folder, Softly Sophisticated 3D EF, Sending Love Dies, Stylish Shapes Circle Dies, Classic Matte Dots, Adhesive Backed Hearts & Flowers, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Bone Folder

1.     The base of the card is Basic White cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” in the middle.

2.     The second layer is Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and inserted into the SAB Softly Sophisticated 3D EF. Run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.

3.     Die-cut the grass and the bush from Old Olive Cardstock. Adhere to the bottom of the Crushed Curry layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Trim off excess with the Paper Snips.

4.     Die-cut the mailbox post from Basic Black cardstock and adhere to the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

5.     Adhere the bush with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add a couple of Hearts & Flowers in the lower grass.

6.     Die-cut a Smoky Slate mailbox and fold on the score lines to make it 3-D.  Stamp “Mail” with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. Use the Bone Folder! Die-cut a red-flag and attach with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the mailbox.  Attach a Basic Black Class Matte Dot in the hole of the flag.  Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to make your 3D mailbox and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Basic Black mailbox stand.

7.     Die-cut a White envelope using the Sending Love Dies and add a die-cut red heart to the front of the envelope.  Insert into the mailbox (or money!)

8.     Ink up the sentiment “A Little Note to Say” with Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Basic White cardstock.  Die-cut with a Stylish Shapes circle die.  Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday to you” from the Zany Zoo stamp set.  Die-cut with the little circle die from Sending Love Dies to cover up the center (I Miss You) or any other sentiment you wish to use with Crushed Curry cardstock.

9.     Ink up the bird with Tuxedo Black Memento on Sweet Sorbet cardstock and die-cut with the bird die from Sending Love Dies.

10.   On the inside, use the Zany Zoo stamp sentiment “Something great to celebrate you!” in Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Optional:  Stamp the mailbox stamp too.
