Hot Air Balloon Birthday

I've been working on some birthday cards this week since I have a couple friends having birthdays soon.  This one is very simple.  It was a layout from Selene Kempton, but I changed the DSP she used.

Stamp Set:  Hot Air Balloon

Cardstock:  Lemon Lolly, Basic White, Lighter Than Air DSP (retired)

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Hot Air Balloon Dies, Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack, Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dot,

1.     The base of the card is Lemon Lolly cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the card front.

3.    The third layers are strips of Light Than Air DSP cut at ¾” x 4” and adhered horizontally to the Basic White layer.  Unfortunately, this DSP is retired, but there are others that will work just as well.  I just happen to have a lot left over.

4.    Ink up the hot air balloon stamp on a scrap of Basic White cardstock.  Die-cut with the Hot Air Balloon Dies and attach to the card front.

5.    Ink up the sentiment with Tuxedo Black Memento on Lemon Lolly cardstock and die-cut it out with the Hot Air Balloon Dies.  Glue the Balmy Blue basket to the balloon and add Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back.

6.     Tie a bow with the Baker’s Twine Lemon Lolly and attach with a Mini Glue Dot.

7.    Add three Lemon Lolly Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots.
