Artistically Inked - Alcohol Inks

Have you tried the new technique of coloring your Stampin' Blends on Vellum and then adding 91% Rubbing Alcohol to it?  This is the result, and I really had fun playing with it.  Then I used the stamp set Artistically Inked Bundle to finish the card.  However, to apply vellum to cardstock, I used my Silicone Craft Sheet by placing Multipurpose Liquid Glue on it and then use a sponge to adhere to the backside of the vellum.  It doesn't show through like Glue Dots, or Stampin' Seal.

Here are my instructions for this card:

Stamp Set:  Artistically Inked

Cardstock:  Highland Heather, Basic White, Vellum

Ink:  Just Jade, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape

Stampin’ Blends:  Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Just Jade

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Artistic Dies, 91% Alcohol, Water Painters or old Aqua Painters, Banners Pick a Punch, Silicone Craft Sheet, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Bone Folder, Dimensionals

1.     The base of the card is Highland Heather cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4”.

2.    The second layer is Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4”.

3.    The third layer is vellum.  Take the Stampin’ Blends and randomly color all over the Vellum.  Then take your brush and dip in the 91% alcohol and brush onto the vellum.

4.    Let the vellum dry but you may want to add more Blends in some of the area’s first and add more alcohol.

5.    Once dry, add some Multipurpose Glue onto the Silicone Craft Sheet.  Use a Stampin’ Sponge to add the glue to the back of the vellum.  Attach to the Basic White cardstock and use a Bone Folder to smooth it down.

6.    Ink up the large flower with Highland Heather ink and stamp on Basic White cardstock.  Ink up the small flower with Gorgeous Grape on Basic White cardstock.

7.    Ink up the leaves with Just Jade ink on Basic White cardstock.

8.    Die-cut with the Artistic Dies.  Layer together with Dimensionals.

9.    Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday” with Just Jade ink on Basic White cardstock and punch it out with the Banners Pick a Punch.  Adhere with Dimensionals.
