Driving By - Awesome Otter Birthday Card

This is a card I designed for my club workshop on Sunday.  It's another paper-piercing van using the Host Pattern Party DSP. I embossed the paper using the Gingham Embossing Folder.  Here are the instructions for making my card if you'd like to make one too:

Stamp Set:  Driving By and Awesome Otter

Cardstock:  Basic Black, Basic White, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Pattern Party DSP (Host)

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento

Stampin’ Blends:  Pool Party, Basic Black, Gray Granite

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Gingham Embossing Folder, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

The base of the card is Basic Black cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is the Granny Apple Green Pattern Party DSP cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and inserted into the Gingham Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Adhere to the base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    Ink up the van with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and stamp on the Stitched Rectangle Basic White towards the bottom leaving room for a strip of the black and white Pattern Party DSP.  Optional:  You can also add Pool Party Blending Pen underneath the van and then glue it on the strip.

4.    Use the Blending Pens to color in the van tires with Basic Black and Gray Granite, and the windows with Pool.

5.    Ink up the van and stamp another on the DSP and using the Paper Snips, cut out the van except for the tires, fenders, and muffler.  Be sure to cut out the windows too.

6.     Adhere over the first van with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

7.    Die-cut the Poppy Parade label with the Hippo & Friends Die.  Cut it in half and add to the Basic White with half on top and half on the bottom.

8.    Ink up the sentiment “It’s birthday time!” on the Pool Party Tasteful Labels Die with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  Adhere the strip of Crushed Curry cardstock to the back and adhere to the card right side of the van at the top.

9.    Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to your card.

10Adhere to the inside Basic White with Multipurpose Glue, but stamp first of your choice.
