Driving By - Hippy Van

I've was in visiting my daughter last week so I didn't have to deal with the big snowstorm in Indiana, so I've not been able to stamp much.  So, I've been stamping this week and hope to post more cards. In the '60s this was a popular van that hippies decorated with flowers so I used the Pattern Play DSP to decorate this van, but lots of other Designer Papers could work as well.  This is a Sale-a-Bration set called Driving By.   It uses the sentiment from Awesome Otter, another SAB set.
Here are the instructions for my card:

Stamp Set:  Driving By, Awesome Otter

Cardstock:  Crushed Curry, Basic White, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Pattern Party DSP (Host)

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento

Stampin’ Blends:  Pool Party, Basic Black, and Gray Granite

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Hippo & Friends Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Tasteful Labels Dies, Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

1.     The base of the card is Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Pattern Party DSP cut at 2” x 5-1/4” and adhered to the bottom base of the Crushed Curry card.

3.    Die-Cut a Stitched Rectangle Die from Basic White cardstock.

4.    Ink up the van with Tuxedo Black Memento and stamp on the Basic White rectangle.

5.    Color it in with the Stampin’ Blends.

6.    Ink up the van with Tuxedo Black Memento again and stamp on the DSP.  Cut it out with Paper Snips omitting the wheels, bumpers, and windows.  Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue over the first van.

7.    Die-cut Pool Party Hippo & Friends Die and cut it in half attaching one half to the top and the other half to the bottom of the Basic White.

8.    Add Dimensionals to the back and adhere to the front of the card.

9.    Die-cut a label from Pool Party using the Tasteful Labels Die.  Ink it up with “It’s Birthday Time!” and then cut a strip of Poppy Parade at ¼” x 3” and adhere to the back of the label with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Add Dimensionals to the back and attach at the right top above the van.
