Beautiful Balloons - Gift Card Holder

At my recent card club, we made this adorable gift card holder.  It's been a while since I've made a gift card holder, so I thought everyone needs to know how to make them since we all give gift cards a lot.  Plus they are easy to make with the right tools.  It uses the beautiful Bright and Beautiful DSP as well as some of the new and returing Core colors - Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, and Berry Burst.

Stamp Set:  Beautiful Balloons - Gift Card Holder

Cardstock:  Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lolly, Berry Burst, Basic White, 6” x 6” Bright & Beautiful DSP

Ink:  Azure Afternoon

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder, Beautiful Balloons Dies, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and Stampin’ Dimensionals

1.     The base of the card is the new Azure Afternoon cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” and 2-1/4”.  Fold and burnish the score lines with a Bone Folder.

2.    The Bright & Beautiful DSP is cut at 3” x 4” and adhered to the front of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday” with Azure Afternoon ink on Lemon Lolly cardstock.  Die-cut with the confetti label die from the Beautiful Balloons Dies.  Adhere to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the DSP.

4.    For the inside flap:  Use Tear and Tape on either side of to create a pocket for a gift card or money.  I used a 1” punch (retired) to create a half-moon to make it easier to remove a gift card.

5.    For the inside:  Cut Basic White cardstock at 4” x 5-1/4” and ink up the sentiment “I think it’s time for a Celebration” with Azure Afternoon ink on the left side.

6.    Mark with a pencil your space on the right side before stamping so that you don't put the die-cut balloons over to over.  You can erase it later.

7.    Die-cut a large Azure Afternoon balloon.  Die-cut a Lemon Lolly and Berry Burst smaller balloons.  Lay out your balloons for placement before attaching them. Ink up the string stamp with Azure Afternoon ink and stamp them on the right side of the pencil mark.

8.    Attach the balloons to the stamped strings with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

9.    Erase the pencil mark.  Insert a gift card or money inside the flap.
