Hang Your Stocking

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care!  The Real Red stockings remind me of the stockings I have purchased for my family. The base of my card is Real Red card stock.  I used the Brick Wall for the Whisper White  background of my card.   The new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to create my stockings using Real Red cardstock.  The top trim is Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper.  The Noel at the top if also Real Red.  All of them were cut out with the Christmas Stockings Thinlet Dies in the Big Shot.  The hangers are attached with Glue Dots and the stockings have Dimensionals on the back to hold them in place.

Cookie Cutter Halloween "Ugly Sweater"

This is my ugly Halloween sweater card!  I had made a Night of Navy sweater card last month and posted it here.  Then I decided I wanted to make an ugly sweater card.   Why wait until Christmas?  This one is for Halloween.! It is a regular card (4-1/4" x 11 and scored at 5-1/2") but with skeleton buttons.  I made the skeleton buttons by stamping the skeletons from the Cookie Cutter Halloween set on Shrinky Dinks plastic with Black Stazon ink and then shrunk them down with my Heat Tool. I attached them to the trim with Glue Dots.  Of course, I had to make a black and orange sweater.  The trim is made with Basic Black cardstock cut at 1/2" and using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool.   I made a pocket by using a retired tag punch, but you could use the Best Badge Punch.

Sweater Card

It is not quite sweater time in Indiana because this week the temperature's are going to be in the 80 or 90's.  It is the last day of summer, so I guess we still have a few hot summer days left.  Sue Parker gave instructions on how to make these sweater cards on Pinterest, so I wanted to make one too since I purchased the Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  It is thicker than the other TIEF's, so it is best to spray mist your cardstock with water before embossing so it doesn't tear. Because it is thicker than the embossing folders, when you run it through the Big Shot, you need the Big Shot Platform, a single sheet of cardstock in embossing folder and just a top Standard Cutting Pad.  For the trim, I cut strips at 1/2" wide and then used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score on every groove.  I attached the trim with Foam Adhesive Strips.  The buttons I used were Stampin' Up! retired Night of Navy to match my Night of Navy sweater which I attached with Glue Dots.
