High Tide

It's May already!  So hard to believe that it's here.  This card was inspired by Lynn Starlz.  I liked her card so much, I wanted to create it and I had my club make this card at the workshop.  I really loved it.  I added the "Thank You" from All Things Thanks because we wanted a thank you card.  Here are the instructions for my card:

1.     Base of card is Night of Navy cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.
2.    The second layer is Marina Mist cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and inserted into the Seaside TIEF and ran through the Big Shot.  Then wrap Night of Navy Solid Baker’s Twine around it and tie a bow on the left.
3.    Cut out a Whisper White oval and a Night of Navy oval using the Layering Oval Framelits and the Big Shot.
4.    Stamp the sun with Crushed Curry ink.
5.    Ink up the water with Marina Mist and stamp the left side and then the right side.  May use a sponge with Marina Mist to fill in the water.  Use Wink of Stella in the water to make it glisten.
6.    Stamp the birds in the sky using Night of Navy ink.  Stamp “Thank You” with Night of Navy ink.
7.    Adhere to the Night of Navy oval and put Dimensional on the back and place on the front of the card over the twine.

Swan Lake

This card was made with the set Swan Lake which I think is absolutely a beautiful set. The technique is called mirror image and it is a little different than the usual way I've done this technique in the past because both swans were cut out.  This technique was inspired by Michelle Zindorf's tutorial that I purchased.  The base of my card is Whisper White cut at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" but then I used Island Indigo cardstock and the Seaside TIEF cut at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and ran it through the Big Shot before adhering to the front of my card base.  The other colors include Soft Sky, Tempting Turquoise, and markers for shading.

Seaside Shore - Kissing Fish

This is another Seaside Shore card that we made at a recent club workshop.  I taught my club members how to do a reverse stamping image by using a Window Sheet to transfer the image onto Whisper White card stock and then stamp again on Whisper White card stock not using the window sheet, so both images are reversed from each other.  However, they had to color in both fish with Stampin' Up! markers so that they would look the same colors.  They also used the new Seaside TIEF to create the water effect but first stamped the seaweed at the bottom with Island Indigo and then color them with markers before running it through the Big Shot.  I had them use the new Layered Circle Framelits in the Big Shot.  They used direct to paper with ink pad to the Whisper White Circle by dragging a Pool Party Stampin' Spot across the top of the circle and then sponging Sahara Sand ink at the bottom of the circle. and the starfish were stamped with Calypso Coral ink.  The fish are attached to the circle with Dimensionals.  The base of my card is Pool Party with a layer of Dapper Denim and another layer of Pool Party. I also did this card for my swaps this month with four other demos.
