Sweet Strawberry Birthday

I love strawberries and this card makes me think of summertime.  I used to go pick strawberries in a field and make freezer jam.  It was so delicious!  My kids helped me pick but I think they ate more than they picked.  The Designer Series Paper is so beautiful but it comes as a Free Bundle if you spend $100 or more.  My club members made this card at our workshop and they loved it.  The background embossing is the 3D Ornate Floral Embossing Folder.  Here are my instructions:

1.     The base of the card is Poppy Parade cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 5-1/2” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is also Poppy Parade cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” and inserted into the Ornate Embossing Folder and run through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine using Plates 1 and 4.  Adhere to the front of the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

3.    The third layer is a strip of the Berry Delightful DSP cut at 2” x 5-1/2” and adhered to the middle of the front with Stampin’ Seal, or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

4.    Die-cut Garden Green cardstock with the 3” Layering Scallop Squares Dies.  Die-cut the Berry Delightful DSP with the 2-5/8” Square Layering Dies.  Layer together with adhesive.

5.    Ink up the strawberry outline stamp with Poppy Parade ink and stamp on Whisper White cardstock.  Ink up the “fill in” stamp also with Poppy Parade ink on top of the first image to create two-step stamping.  Make two of them.  Do the same with the stems using Garden Green and Granny Apple Green inks.  Use the Strawberry Builder Punch to punch them out.

6.    Use Glue dots to attach the stem to the strawberries.  Glue the left strawberry down on the DSP with adhesive and pop up the second strawberry with Dimensionals and place on the right overlapping the first one.

7.    Put Dimensionals on the back of the layered squares and adhere to the upper part of the card centering over the center strip.

8.    Die cut a 2-1/8” Garden Green scallop oval using the Layering Ovals.  Die-cut a 2” Whisper White oval using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Ink up the sentiment “Just for You” with Garden Green ink and stamp on the Whisper White stitched oval.  Layer onto the scallop Garden Green oval.  Put Dimensionals on the back and adhere to the lower part of the DSP Panel.

9.    For the inside:  Cut Whisper White cardstock at 4” x 5-1/4”.   Ink up the sentiment “Happy Birthday You Sweet Thing” with Garden Green ink.  Stamp outline strawberry stamp on Poppy Parade cardstock.  Punch it out with the Strawberry Builder Punch.  Punch out a Garden Green stem.  Adhere with a Glue Dot to the strawberry and adhere to the inside of your card.
