Circle of Sayings - Faux Twisted Ribbon Card

This is my first attempt at making Faux Twisted Ribbon cards and I need three birthday cards this month, so I hope they will like their cards.  It is a fun technique that I learned from Karen Titus.  Here is how I did this card:

Stamp Set:  Circle of Sayings

Cardstock:  Pretty Peacock, Fresh Freesia, Basic White, and Masterfully Made DSP

Ink:  Pretty Peacock

Stampin’ Blends:  Pretty Peacock and Fresh Freesia

Other:  Paper Trimmer, 1-1/2” Circle Punch, 2-3/8” Circle Punch, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Silicone Craft Sheet, Pencil

1.     The base of the card is Pretty Peacock cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    Cut Basic White cardstock at 2” x 5-1/2” and mark every inch along both sides with a pencil.

3.    Place the Basic White piece on a Silicone Craft Sheet.

4.    Cut ½” strips of Designer Series Paper about 6 inches long with two different coordinating colors.

5.    Starting in the middle, lay one color of the strip at an angle right over the top of the pencil mark on one side and then over the top of another higher mark on the other.  Keep adding the strips using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

6.    Add the second layer of strips going in the opposite direction.

7.    Life the entire piece off of the Silicone Mat and trim off the excess strips along the edges.

8.    Cut a 2-1/4” x 5-1/2” of Fresh Freesia cardstock and layer the Basic White piece to it and add it to your card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Add to your card base on the left side leaving a small margin.

9.    Ink up the stamp “Celebrate” from the Circle Sayings stamp set on Fresh Freesia cardstock.  Punch out with the 2-3/8” Circle Punch.

10.  Ink up the cupcake with Pretty Peacock on Basic White cardstock and color it in with the Stampin Blends.

11.   Punch it out with the 1-1/2” Circle Punch and attach with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the center.

12.  Attach the circles layers to the upper middle of the card with Multipurpose Glue on the left side and a Stampin’ Dimensional on the right side.
