Christmas Sweaters

This is a card inspired by Brandy's Cards but I used her ideas to make it my own.  The stamp set is the Christmas Sweaters set from the 2017 Holiday Catalog.  Santa's beard is made by using Multipurpose Glue and Dazzling Diamonds.  Here is the rest of my instructions:

1.     The base of the card is Cherry Cobbler cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.
2.    The second layer is Garden Green and cut at 4” x 5-1/4” and inserted into the Cable Knit 3-D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder and run through the Big Shot.
3.    Wrap the ribbon around the Garden Green Cable Knit cardstock and put a Glue Dot on the back to hold it in place.
4.    Ink up the Santa sweater with the Memento Black ink and stamp it on the 2-1/2” x 3” Whisper White cardstock.  Color in the Santa with markers: Sahara Sand for his glasses, Blushing Bride for his face, Cherry Cobbler for his hat.  The sweater is Old Olive and Pool Party.
5.    Use Multipurpose Glue on all the white parts of Santa (beard, mustache, eyebrows, the brim of hat and pompom), but make sure the black lines will show through and then sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds over the glue. Shake off excess and let dry.
6.    Once dry, adhere to the 2-3/4” x 3-1/4” Cherry Cobbler layer and put Dimensionals on the back and adhere to the front of the card over the ribbon.

Wrapped in Warmth

Yesterday, my club members met at my house and this is one of the cards that we made.  I showed them how to use the new Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the Holiday catalog.  It is thicker than the regular Embossing Folders.  It kind of creates a 3-D effect.  Before they put it in the Big Shot, I had them spray the 4" x 5-1/4" Cherry Cobbler cardstock with a Spritzer filled with rubbing alcohol.  Water can also be used, but the alcohol dries faster.  The wetness provides the cardstock a little more give so that when you run it through the Big Shot, the deep impression will not tear the cardstock. The base of the card is Garden Green cardstock cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2" in the middle.  I also had them emboss the Whisper White cardstock with the Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder and the Heat Tool. Unfortunately, I just realized the powder retired, so instead you can use the Cherry Cobbler ink pad and Clear Embossing Powder. The sentiment is from the Wrapped in Warmth stamp set.  First, they used the Embossing Buddy on the cardstock and then ink up the sentiment.  Pour the embossing powder over it and shake off the excess.  Heat set it with the Heat Tool.  Then they cut it out with the new Stitched Framelits circle.  Then they die cut a scalloped circle from the Layering Circle Framelits using Garden Green cardstock and layered them together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue with Dimensionals on the back.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Warmth and Cheer Paper Pack and it is cut at 1" x 4".

Merry Mice

The other day I had another chance to make a Merry Mice card with this adorable stamp set in the Holiday catalog.  It also one of the stamp sets that 25% discounted this month.  The base of my card is Garden Green cut at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2" in the middle.  The second layer is Cherry Cobbler cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and I love these two colors together.  I used the Cherry Cobbler cardstock and 2" x 5-1/4" of Garden Green cardstock in the new Cable Knit Dynamic TIEF in the Big Shot. I then glued them to the front of the card as shown in the picture.  Next, ink up the mouse with Black Stazon and stamp the image on Whisper White cardstock.  Color it in with Stampin' Write markers,  I used Cherry Cobbler,  Garden Green, Sahara Sand, Blushing Bride, and Crushed Curry. Then die cut the image out  with the Lots of Labels Framelits in the Big shot.  Die cut the next size die from the Gold Glimmer Paper.  Layer them together and put Dimensionals on the back to add to the center of the card.  Take the new Baker's Twine Trio Pack from the Holiday Catalog and tie them in a bow.  Attach with a Glue Dot.
