Happy Scenes - Winter

This is another card my club members made at our workshop on Sunday.

Stamp Set:  Happy Scenes (2015 Holiday Catalog)

Cardstock:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Silver Foil, Season of Cheer DSP

Ink: Versamark pad, White Embossing Powder, White Craft

Other:  Big Shot, Precision Plate, Hearth & Home Thinlets Die, Christmas Greetings Thinlets Die, Heat Tool, Snowflake Elements, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen

1.     Base of card is Whisper White cardstock cut at 4¼” x 11” and scored at 5½” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Night of Navy cut at 4” x 5¼”.

3.    The third layer is Season of Cheer DSP cut at

3¾” x 5”

4.    Layer the Night of Navy on the base of the card with Adhesive and then layer the DSP on top of it with Adhesive.

5.    The window frame thinlet is cut from 3¾” x 3”
Whisper White cardstock. Use the Big Shot and Precision Plate, steel facing up and the writing facing down.  It is used in place of a cutting plate and used on Tab 2. Then lay down the white cardstock for window frame and then the Heart & Home Thinlets Die and a cutting pad on top.

6.    The Night of Navy strip is 1½” x 3¾” for the window sill.  It can be used with the Magentic Platform and two cutting plates.

7.    The 2½” x 3” Night of Navy cardstock is used for the scene behind the window.  Use the Embossing Buddy before stamping the winter scene in Versarmark.  Then sprinkle White Embossing Powder over it.  Shake off excess and use the Heat Tool to emboss it. Optional:  You may reink scene with Versamark and sprinkle Iridesent Embossing Powder over the first embossed trees and heat set.   Attach to the back of the window frame with adhesive.  Add Dimensionals to the back and adhere window frame/scenery to the front of the card.

8.    Carefully, ink up a wooden Snowflake Element with White Craft ink and let dry.  Can use Heat Tool to get it to dry faster.  When dry, attach to window frame with Dimensional or Glue Dot.

9.    Silver Foil is cut at 3½” x 1¼”.  Use “Peace” die from the Christmas Greetings Thinlets Dies to cut out in the Big Shot using Precision Plate.

10.  Attach to the Night of Navy window sill with 2-Way Glue Pen.   Attach below window frame with Dimensionals.

I Believe in Santa

This is a fun card to make and my customers enjoyed making it at the club workshop yesterday.
Here are the instructions:

Stamp Sets:  Cozy Christmas,  Wonderland, Jolly Christmas (2015 Holiday Catalog)

Cardstock:  Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White

Ink:  Archival Basic Black, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow

Other:  Big Shot, Multipurpose Platform, Brayer, 2” Circle Punch, Woodland TIEF, Washi Punch, Post-it note, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive, Multipurpose Glue

1.      Base of card is Lost Lagoon cut at 5½” x 8½” and scored at 4¼” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Mossy Meadow cut at 4” x 5¼” and adhered to the base of the card with Snail Adhesive or Tombow Multipurpose Glue.

3.    Ink up Santa and his sleigh from the Cozy Christmas stamp set with the Archival Basic Black ink pad.  Stamp on the 3¾” x 5” Whisper White cardstock starting in the middle and up towards the right corner as if they are flying.

4.    Cut a 2” circle from a post-it note making sure you include the sticky part.  Adhere it over Santa and his sleigh.

5.    Ink up the Brayer with Lost Lagoon ink.  Brayer across the Woodland TIEF on the logo side.

6.    Then ink up the Wonderland trees with Mossy Meadow ink and stamp on the TIEF towards the bottom.

7.    Now place your “Santa and sleigh” Whisper White cardstock on the opposite side of the TIEF (less chance of ink smearing) and run it through the Big Shot using the Multipurpose Platform on Tab 1 and make sure you run it through with the fold in the TIEF goes in first.  Carefully lift off the TIEF when done.  Adhere to front of card.

8.    Stamp “Believe” from the Jolly Christmas set with Lost Lagoon on Whisper White scrap and punch it out with the Washi Punch and adhere to front of card with Dimensionals.

Optional:  Use a 2-Way Glue Pen on the Mossy Meadow trees and sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds.  Shake off excess and let dry!

September Swaps

Each month I swap with a group that is called SASS (Sunshine and Smiles Swap) which was formed by my demo friend Dianne and I.  It is the same group of demos that swap each month and they are very talented stampers and I have permission to show some of their swaps in September.

Woodland Wonderland

This card was so much fun to make.  I learned how to make it watching a video of Ann Craig's.
Since then, I've seen lots of cards using this same technique using different stamps for the background. First, I used a soft sky ink pad directly on the Woodland Embossing Folder on the side that has the Stampin' Up! logo, but since making this card, I've learned to use the brayer to do this step.   I inked up my Wonderland trees with Mossy Meadow and stamped on the same side I inked up the sky.  Then, I put my Whisper White cardstock directly onto the other side of the TIEF and ran it through the Big Shot.  I added the bird from the Christmas set White Christmas and colored him with a Real Red marker.  I stamped the banner is Soft Suede and sponged the edges with Mossy Meadow.  I used the Banner Triple punch for the one end and attached it with Dimensionals.

Anniversary Card

My son and his wife were married a year on October 11, so I made this anniversary card for them.
The base of the card is Basic Black and I used Real Red for the second layer but inserted it into the Happy Heart TIEF and ran it through the Big Shot. I used the large 2 1/2" Circle Punch for the Whisper White moon.  I used the Owl Builder punch using Basic Black for the owl silhouettes and Real Red for the heart.  I used the Bird Builder Branch for the tree/leaf branches. Then I stamped "Happy Anniversary" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set on Whisper White with Basic Black ink and punched it out with the Large Oval Punch.  I adhered it to the Scallop Oval Punch I punched out in Basic Black.  My son said they liked the card.

Rainbow Stamping

Wonderland

This is one of my favorite sets in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  Doreen and I made this card last week when she came to visit me and we stamped all day.  The base of the card is Island Indigo.  The layer that is stamped on is Whisper White.  First we stamped the trees with Basic Black and embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  Then we masked the moon over the tee top, and with the Versamark ink pad, we stamped the snowflakes and embossed them with Whisper White Embossing Powder.  Then we sponged with Pool Party, Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo.

Home for Christmas

Santa is waving to us from inside the window!  This card was made using the Hearth & Home Thinlets and Festival Fireside Framelits, but the Santa, tree, and presents are from the Home for Christmas Designer Series Paper that I cut out each one with the Paper Snips.  The colors are Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Whisper White.  The "Home for Christmas" is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set.  The punch is the Washi punch, but extended it and layered on Real Red cardstock.  I colored in the pinecones with Soft Suede marker.  I brayered the Brick Wall Embossing Folder with Real Red ink to give a little more dimension.

Sheltering Tree

Just love how this card turned out. Doreen, a customer friend of mine came over and we stamped all day on Friday.  She saw this technique and created a similar card before she came over, so we played around to recreate some more.  The base of the card is Whisper White, although it doesn't show up in the picture.  The tree is stamped with Early Espresso and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  Then with Versamark,
we stamped snowflakes all around the tree, and then embossed with White embossing powder.    Then with a sponge, we added Pool Party, Bermuda Bay.  Then we added Lost Lagoon, but decided it needed something more, so we added Island Indigo around the edges and that was exactly what it needed. Last, we embossed with Iridescent Ice for the second layer of the tree.

To You and Yours Too

This is my To You and Yours Too card inspired by the one Sara made at Convention.  I loved her card so much that I wanted to make one too.  I think I would have made my white frame smaller to show off the stars on the Soft Sky in the background.  Here is how I made mine:

Stamp Set:  To You and Yours Too

Cardstock:  Soft Sky, Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Silver Glimmer, Tea Lace Doily,

White Vellum

Ink:  Whisper White Craft, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay,

1.      Base of card is Soft Sky cut at 8½” x 5½” and scored at 4¼” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is also Soft Sky but cut at 4” x 5¼” and inserted into the Lucky Stars TIEF and run through the Big Shot.  Ink up a Dauber with Whisper White Craft ink and sponge each star.  Let dry!

3.    Cut Silver Glimmer at 4¼” x 4¼”.  Attach to front center of card.

4.    Use White Vellum and Smoky Slate and cut one of each using the Square Framelit.

5.    Ink up the small stars from the set with White Craft ink onto the Smoky Slate Square.  Let Dry!

6.    Stamp the sold image with the trees and deer on the Vellum with Craft White.  Fill it in with a Dauber and White Craft ink, if necessary to fill in.  Let dry!

7.    Cut Whisper White rectangle frame at 3¾” x 4¼” leaving about ½” border at the top and both sides, and leaving 1” at the bottom.

8.    Attach White Vellum to Smoky Slate square.  Attach white rectangle frame.

9.    Cut a Doily and attach to bottom of frame with 2-Way Glue.

10.  Stamp “Happy Holiday Wishes” on Whisper White cardstock with Pool Party ink, and use the Lots of Labels Framelit Die to cut it out.  Attach Silver Meltallic Thread on the back and attach to the doily with Dimensionals.  Add Rhinestones to label.

11.  Use Craft White on the Snowflake Element. Let Dry.  Add an Iced Rhinestone in the center and attach to the top of the card with Glue Dots.

Christmas Cuties Angel

This is sort of a case of a card that I saw on a blog from Founder's Circle by Esther Boyle, and wanted to share my version on my blog.. I love this set called Christmas Cuties.  It is in the 2015 Holiday Catalog and has a set of 7 with an elf, angel and a little kid.  It also has three verses and a stamp with snow.  I used the Softly Falling TIEF on Whisper White.  I used the Oval Collection Framelits die to cut her out after coloring her and layered it on a silver Metallic Foil Doily.  The "Merry" is cut from Silver Foil using the Christmas Greetings Thinlets Die.  The star is from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, and also cut from the Silver Foil.

Large Gift Bag

I had a Gift Bag Punch Board class last weekend.  My customers each had different 12" x 12" Season of Cheer DSP to make this large gift bag, but 2" at the top was turned down before making the holes for the ribbon.  I used the Merry Everything stamp set from the annual catalog and used the Note Tag Punch to punch it out to attach with Dimensionals. The ribbon is the 5/8" Gold Satin Ribbon in the annual catalog.

Medium Gift Bag

Here is the medium gift bag they made with the Gift Bag Punch Board class last weekend. The Designer Series Paper is still the Season of Cheer, but made with the holly and berries side.  It was cut at 6" x 11".  The ribbon is the 1/8" Real Red Striped Ribbon from the 2015 Holiday Catalog. The stamp is from the "Oh, What Fun" set which also goes with the Oh, What Fun Tag Project Kit in the catalog on page 5.

Small Gift Bag

I had a Gift Bag Punch Board class last weekend.  My customers made the little snowman bag on the right, but I made another one on the left with the penguin.  Both turned out really out. The snowman and penguin come from the stamp set Snow Place in the 2015 Holiday Catalog.  The Designer Series Paper I used with the snowflakes is called Season of Cheer and cut at 4" x 10".  The ribbon is the 5/8"  White Glitter Ribbon in the catalog too.

Yuletide Village with Frosted Forest trees in an arch

This is the card that I used for my monthly November swap.  The theme was "Christmas Card" but although there is no message on the...
