Happiest of Birthdays

This is a card that I cased from page 103 of the annual catalog using the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set for the sentiment.  I love how the Dandelions 3D Embossing Folder looks so beautiful with Vellum.  It really makes it pop.  I colored the stems with the Old Olive watercolor pencil.  I used the Stitched Rectangles for the sentiment.  I did use Balmy Blue cardstock rather than Seaside Spray and I didn't have the Butterfly Gems but I could add them later.  I didn't use the ribbon either.  It's a very easy card to make.

Pampered Pets - Sympathy Card

It's always hard to lose a pet.  They are such a part of your family. A recent club member of mine lost her dog that she'd had for 10 years and he went everywhere with her.  So I pulled my Pampered Pets set so I could send her a card to let her know I was thinking of her. I used Peaceful Moments for the sentiment inside.  I pulled a retired set called Happy Tails to make the paw prints.  I used the Heart Punch Pack to create the hearts.  I fussy cut the dog from the Playful Pets DSP that looked the most like her dog.  Hope she likes her card.

Butterfly Brilliance - Magenta Madness Pop Up and Flip Card

This is the last Pop up and Flip Card I will post.  I want to start using the stamp set. The stamp set is called Butterfly Brilliance, but I didn't use the stamp set.  I used the Hydrangea Haven for the sentiment.  This is another Pop-Up and Flip card that I made at our recent club workshop.  I used the In-Color Magenta Madness, the  Brilliant Wings Die and the 6" x 6" Butterfly Bijou DSP.  The DSP is no longer available, unfortunately, because it was while supplies lasted.  Here are my instructions:

1.     The base of the card is Magenta Madness cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Butterfly Bijou DSP cut at 4” x 5-1/4”.  Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Seal only along the four sides of the DSP.

3.    Now, insert card into the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Use the largest stitched oval to die-cut the center out.  Set aside the Magenta Madness Oval.

4.    Use the Brilliant Wing Dies to die-cut the butterflies on the DSP that it fits perfectly using Plate 1, 2, and 3’s.  Set butterflies aside.

5.    Die-cut a Basic White oval which is next to the largest die so it is smaller.  Ink up the sentiment with Magenta Madness at the bottom of the oval leaving room for the butterfly later.

6.    Mechanism: Cut 3” x 4” Magenta Madness cardstock and score at 1”, 2” and 3”.  Fold in half and glue one 1” end with Stampin’ Seal and adhere to the inside center up to the scoreline, but not on the scoreline or the card won’t close.

7.    On the other 1” end, apply Stampin’ Seal and fold the card down on top of it to adhere.  Now, it should pop up!

8.    Cut ¾” x 2-1/4” of Magenta Madness cardstock and score at 1-1/4”.  Put adhesive on half of the long side.  Adhere right up against the center just below the oval.  On the other end, apply adhesive completely on that end.  Close the card and put your Magenta Madness oval inside your open oval so that it adheres to the mechanism.

9.    Put Dimensionals on the back of the Basic White oval and adhere to the Magenta Madness oval.

10.  Take your butterfly and put two Dimensionals on the back on his body but not his wings above the sentiment.

11.   Optional:  Adhere Wink of Stella.  You can also use the Paper Snips to fussy cut out butterflies from the DSP oval to adhere to inside.

Butterfly Brilliance - Pop-Up and Flip Card

I love butterflies, don't you?  I was surprised that most of them live only 14 days except for the Monarch Butterfly.  This is a Pop-up and Flip card which I've had fun making several so I may post more in the next few days.  I did one with the dragonfly on March 10.  This 6"x6" DSP Butterfly Bijou is just beautiful but it's only available while supplies last.  The second picture shows the card open and I glued down some of the butterflies that were leftover from the DSP I cut out.  Here are the instructions for my card:

 1.     The base of the card is So Saffron cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is Butterfly Bijou DSP cut at 4” x 5-1/4”.  Adhere to the card front with Stampin’ Seal only along the four sides of the DSP.

3.    Now, insert the card into the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Use the largest stitched oval to die-cut the center out.  Set aside the So Saffron oval.

4.    Inside:  Cut Basic White at 4” x 5-1/4” and adhere with adhesive.

5.    Use the Brilliant Wing Dies to die-cut the butterflies on the DSP that it fits perfectly using Plate 1, 2, and 3’s.  Set butterflies aside.

6.    Die-cut a Basic White oval which is next to the largest die so it is smaller.  Ink up the sentiment with Memento Black ink at the bottom of the oval leaving room for the butterfly later.

7.    Mechanism: Cut 3” x 4” So Saffron cardstock and score at 1”, 2”, and 3”.  Fold in half and glue one 1” end with Stampin’ Seal and adhere to the inside center up to the scoreline, but not on the scoreline or the card won’t close.

8.    On the other 1” end, apply Stampin’ Seal and fold the card down on top of it to adhere.  Now, it should pop up!

9.    Cut ¾” x 2-1/4” of So Saffron cardstock and score at 1-1/4”.  Put adhesive on half of the long side.  Adhere right up against the center just below the oval.  On the other end, apply adhesive completely on that end.  Close card and put your So Saffron oval inside your open oval so that it adheres to the mechanism.

10.  Put Dimensionals on the back of the Basic White oval and adhere to the So Saffron oval.

11.   Take your butterfly and put two Dimensionals on the back of his body but not on his wings, but above the sentiment.  Adhere Wink of Stella.  You can also use the Paper Snips to fussy cut out the butterflies from the DSP oval and glue inside.
