Dragonfly Garden - Pop Up and Flip Card

Dragonflies are such beautiful creatures.  I bought this set "Dragonfly Garden" and had not done much with it until the other day.  I watched a few videos on how to make this technique of a card called "Pop Up and Flip" card, so I wanted to make one of my own.  I've seen them made with the new butterfly bundle, but I don't have mine yet, but I love the dragonfly on this card.      Here are my instructions:

1.     The base of the card is Midnight Moonlight cardstock cut at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 4-1/4” in the middle.

2.    The second layer is from the Dandy Garden DSP cut at 4” x 4-1/4” and run Stampin’ Seal around the outside of all four edges to adhere (not in the middle).  Punch out a dragonfly from the DSP with the Dragonfly Punch and set aside.

3.    Place the largest Stitched Shape oval on the front of the card with it open and run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine with Plate 1, 2, and both 3’s.  Set aside.  Die-cut a Basic White smaller oval with the Stitched Shapes Dies.

4.    For the mechanism:  Cut Midnight Moonlight cardstock at 3” x 4” and score at 1”, 2”, and 3”.  Burnish with the Bone Folder.  Cut another Midnight Moonlight cardstock at ¾” x 2-1/4” and score at 1-1/4”.

5.    The inside of the card is Basic White cardstock cut at 4” x 5-1/4”.  Adhere it with Multipurpose Glue or Stampin’ Seal.

6.    Take the 3”x 4” Midnight Moonlight cardstock and adhere Stampin’ Seal on one end section.  Attach it to the center of the inside but making sure the card folds.  Put Stampin’ Seal on the other end and fold the card down so it sticks to the top layer of the card.

7.    Now take the ¾” x 2-1/4” Midnight Moonlight piece and put the adhesive on the end of the longer piece (but not the whole piece) and attach right up to the oval shape.

8.    Put adhesive on the other side and attach the Midnight Moonlight oval piece to it.

9.    Put Dimensionals on the dragonfly and attach to the Basic White oval.  Put Dimensionals on the Basic White oval and attach to the Midnight Moonlight oval.

10.  Ink up the inside with a sentiment and the fluttering dragonfly stamp.
