Adorable Owls Notepad Holder for Valentine's

Don't you just love the little Adorable Owls set?  I found this idea for the notepad holder from Stamp with Marsha and thought it was so adorable!!  You can get about three of these from one sheet of cardstock.  Score first and then cut!  The notepads are Highland Self-Stick Notes from Amazon, so are not the measurements for regular post-its. The magnetic closer came from Magnetic Vent Covers from Lowe's that I just cut two 1/2" x 1" and adhered them with a strong adhesive.  There are lots of other stamp sets that can be used to make this cute notepad holder, but I really love the owl!  The Adorable Owls set can be earned FREE with a $50 order.

Stamp Sets:  Adorable Owls, Country Bouquet

Cardstock:  Real Red, Basic White, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink, Country Floral Lane

Ink:  Tuxedo Black Memento, Real Red

Stampin’ Blends: Tahitian Tide, Pumpkin Pie, Natural Tones Light and Medium

Other:  Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Layering Circles Dies, Corner Rounder, Country Bouquet Punch, Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins, Highland Self-Stick Notes from Amazon, Magnetic Vent Covers from Lowe’s, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Dimensionals, Tear and Tape or Stampin’ Seal

1.     The base of the holder is Real Red cardstock cut at 3-1/4” x 8-1/2” and scored at 3-1/8”. 3-9/16”, 6-5/8”, and 7-1/16”.

2.    Use a Corner Rounder to round the bottom and top corners.

3.    The Country Floral Lane striped paper is 1” x 3-1/4” and adhered with Multipurpose Glue across the front.

4.    Use the Layering Circles Dies to create a Scalloped Crumb Cake circle and a Basic White circle.

5.    Ink up the flying owl from the Adorable Owls with Tuxedo Black Memento on a scrap of Basic White cardstock.  Color the owl’s eyes with Tahitian Tide, the beak and feet with Pumpkin Pie, the face and tummy with light Natural and the head and body with medium Natural.  Use the Paper Snips to trim the owl out or stamp directly onto the Basic White circle.

6.    Adhere the owl and the circles using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the front over the Country Floral Lane strip.

7.    Punch out a Real Red heart and put a Mini Dimensional on the back and attach it to the right of the wing.

8.    Ink up the sentiment “Hoot! Hoot!” and “You’re So Cute” with Real Ink on Petal Pink cardstock and trim them with the Paper Snips.  Attach them with a Glue Dot and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

9.    Add three Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins to the front.

10.  On the inside: Ink up another owl with the bow tie on a scrap of Basic White cardstock and color the owl in with the pastels.  Color the bow tie Real Red.  Trim off below the bow tie and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the inside at the top.

11.   Ink up the sentiment “Happy Valentine’s Day” with Real Red ink on Petal Pink cardstock and trim it out with the Paper Snips and apply below the owl’s bow tie.

12.  Insert the Highland Self-Stick It notes with strong adhesive such as Stampin’ Seal or Tear and Tape.

13.  Cut two ½” x 1” magnetic strips for the closure using Stampin’ Seal or Tear and Tape.
