Kindest Gnomes - Faux Step Fold

This card was inspired by Susan Campfield's video to make a faux step-fold card.  She used the nose for his hands, but they might look like his ears on my card.  I found my little Christmas Gnomes while cleaning how my hutch and I'm not sure where I got my little Gnome, but glad I did.  I tried my luck on his beard using the Snowfall Accents Paint and then heat set with the Heat Tool.  Be sure to use it before adhering the pieces together.  The Glue Dots melt!

Stamp Set:  Kindest Gnomes

Cardstock:  Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Basic White, Petal Pink, Brights DSP (Pool Party)

Ink:  Coastal Cabana

Other:  Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer, 3D Wintry Embossing Folder,  Gnome Dies, Bone Folder, Stylish Shapes, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Snowfall Accents Puff Paint, Heat Tool

1.     The base of the card is Pool Party cardstock cut at 4-1/4” x 11” and scored at 4-1/2”, 9” and 10”.  Use the Bone Folder to crease the scored lines.  First fold the 4-1/2” in half.  Then the 9” folds back towards the front and 10” folds towards the opposite which will show in front at the bottom.

2.    The second layer is 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” and scored at 3”.

3.    Cut the DSP at 2-1/4” x 4-3/4” and place it on the long side at the top. Adhere the second layer to the center of the card and glue it to the bottom.  Adhere glue to the other side and close the card and adhere to the back.

4.    Cut a 2” x 4-1/4” Basic White cardstock, insert it into the 3D Wintry Embossing Folder (snowflakes), and run it through the Mini Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.  Cut the Basic White cardstock in half length-wise at 1” and adhere on either side of the card with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

5.    Add a strip of the DSP ¾” x 4 to the bottom front.

6.    Die-cut the Gnome dies using Coastal Cabana for his hat and shoes, Basic White for his beard, and Petal Pink for his nose and hands.

7.    Add the Snowfall Accents Paint on his beard for adhering him together.  Use the Heat Tool to set it.  Adhere him together with Glue Dots.  Put Dimensionals on the back to attach him to the center of the card.

8.    Ink up the sentiment “Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year” in Coastal Cabana ink and die cut with the Stylish Shapes Banner.  Adhere with Dimensionals to the bottom.
